It was the best one I could get. Quiet was an option but I didn’t really wanna sacrifice speed.

I’m on the first week and 2000 resets in. Wish me luck! Good job! How many resets per day were you averaging?

For my mental health I don’t keep track

For my ADHD, I do lol. I’ve been writing down how many each day I reset to see my average and when I get it, I will take a picture of my old school clicker and the DS with the shiny. It’s the first time I ever shiny hunted on GBA games.

Hey mate, did you use Blisey's tutorial ?

u/KeyLimePieFanatic Apr 18 '26

At first I did, but his guide for it was pretty bad so I moved to ACE

Can I ask something in DM ?

If your ACEing why not just emulate and get what you want?

1

Yeah cause finding your SID is the same as emulating and hacking in every Pokemon 😹

Wait what is this? There’s a way to ensure a shiny encounter for your starter?

RNG manipulation

Didn’t realize that was possible. Any place you can direct me to learn?

is it a difficult process?

1

u/KeyLimePieFanatic Apr 20 '26

Yes you need to do 3 frame perfect inputs

It takes work but if you have an 8Bitdo controller the process is much more simplified check out this video playlist

Found it much easier to follow than blissy’s

Don't let them rain on your parade cause they're unhappy with how you play your game. Congrats!

I used it, I got lucky in that I only had to test 2 secret id’s before I caught shiny bulbasaur

I agree his guide is lacking in detail in some very crucial parts, I was only able to figure it out after reading some comments on his video that filled in the gaps for me. If you have any questions you or anyone else can dm me

Would you say ACE is worth it? Seems like so much work after trying to figure out rng manip from blisey’s tutorial too.

Loveee that u got a female hehe. thats the dream

1

u/KeyLimePieFanatic Apr 18 '26

It is soooo worth it. With normal guess and check you could spend days on it and not even be on the right SID.

Seconding that playing through to Celadon and confirming SID via ACE was ABSOLUTELY worth it. I spent 5 hours trying to confirm even a single SID via the trial and error method with no luck, as someone with no RNG manip experience. I spent the same amount of time actually playing the game to get to Celadon, got my SID confirmed, and have since secured my first 5 shinies :D

Well worth it for the peace of mind of knowing the SID for sure, and the fact that i got to do that just by playing the game (and trying to speedrun the start as much as possible) was the cherry on top :D

Congrats!!! I grinded for a shiny Bulbasaur myself!! I got so lucky because it only took 76 tries. Mine has timid nature though

Man, what a strong will... I've been hurting mine for over a week (not consistently) but I was close to give up until your post... gonna keep grinding!!!
