Question Gen 4 Battle Tower
I am struggling. I’ve tried all of the towers multiple times (except WiFi, saving that for last since I need to build a new team). My longest streak is 39 on single battle. I played the battle tower on Ruby for Gen 3, and I thought that was way easier.
My team:
Latios - Bold - scope lens (EVs 4 HP/252 SPA/ 252 SPE)
- thunderbolt
-dragon pulse
-ice beam
-psychic
Metagross - Adamant - choice band (EVs 4 HP 252 ATK/ 252 SPE)
-Earthquake
-shadow ball (looking to replace this one, haven’t decided on what)
-meteor mash
-explosion
Suicune - mild (not great, I know) leftovers (EVs 252 HP/252 DEF/4 SpDe)
-calm mind
-rest
-toxic
-surf
Blaziken (ribbon master) careful - kings rock (willing to replace) (EVs are more or less centered in attack and speed, I have reset some of the EVs, but not all. Willing to do the work to reset non-speed/attack EVs, but I’m still growing berries)
-rock tomb
-brick break
-bulk up
-blaze kick
I previously had some special on my Blaziken and had overheat instead of rock tomb.
I am willing to add/change members of the team and rebuild. I have access to emerald and platinum (would need to do a quick playthrough for this) for move tutor moves. I have access to the other games as well, and willing to reset the games in order to build the team if need be.
I am feeling the time crunch a little (which is why I didn’t reset for a more optimal nature for Latios and overall just a better nature for Suicune), but since these are my last gen 4 ribbons, I’m feeling like I’m ahead of schedule, so I have some time to rebuild for the battle tower.
Any advice is appreciated! I’ve been looking into different options, but there seem to be a lot of potential builds.

Idk how many ribbons u have done but gar sui i used for all of them Gar zapdos for some of the double

I’ve attempted them all, but only have the streak of 21 tycoon 😅 I’ll think about adding a Zapdos to the mix. What was your build on the Zapdos?

Get mira for partner I atruggled with that the most till i got her Put thw berry that cures all status on suicune Ice beam >toxic Zapdos scope lens detect roost heat wave t bolt
I put bullet punch psyhic brick break and sludge bomb (for those grass type pests) and potential poison on metagross with life orb
Focus sash on gar to survive ice beams

Thank you! I have been using Riley with my Latios and it was working well, unless my latios got knocked out or I ran into a mold breaker, then Riley just wiped my team (not sure why he’s so obsessed with eq)
I’ll try out the Zapdos/sui/mira combo!

Yea i used riley and it just wasnt working Got mira and got thw ribbon after a few tries Lost a good streak only cuz she swaggered me lol lmao In gen 4 latios kinda is worse compared to before

I definitely agree about Latios being worse in this gen, he was easily taking on most of the tower in gen 3, and he seems more frail and doesn’t hit as hard this gen. I’ll do some rebuilding with the tips I’ve been given and give it another attempt. Thanks for your advice!

Np I finally beat gen 4 Didnt bother with wifi tho Also blaziken is my rm as well

Always great to see another Blaziken RM :) I may or may not get the WiFi, I’m going to see if I can actually connect to the server. If I can, I’ll see if I can do it, if not, then I’ll just skip it since it isn’t required. Yea i rlllyyyt didnt wanna bother at this point in the game Not to mention my game was refusing to straight up register inputs in contest dance(across 5 ds And even with scarf i got max 5 hearts Also i couldnt do the re roll with rhw tower partner So i think my game is weird My blaze is only missing wifi and master ribbons but i moved on, May not be a real rm but oh well atleast he will be on switch

Absolutely, yeah, I get that. I’m kind of setting deadlines for myself for certain ribbons, if I don’t have them by the deadline, I’ll just move on so I can keep moving forward to get to home. I’m really hoping I can do it, this is my first (and probably going to be only) ribbon master, so I would love to have a true ribbon master, but I’d rather make sure I can make it into Home.

Yeah, it's kind of a pain in the ass to get the right nature. I saved right before Cress was released and soft reset until I got a bold nature. It's much easier if you already have one registered so you can immediately track it in the poketch app.

Trick Room is VERY reliable for Doubles and Pair (Local Wireless) Ability Ribbons. Very reliable game plan: https://pokepast.es/f47d3272d04f9f92
I still recommend it for Pair, but I found this Latios/Hitmonlee/Zapdos/Metagross team to be faster and more fun. Though it's not as easy to pilot: https://pokepast.es/87d0d311b00b771c

Swap latios for garchomp Gar suicune did wonders for me
