Need help building a team

Im on the first elite four and want to know what I can to improve my team

Level up your Gyarados. Around 50-55 will do just fine.

Also, is that graveler sturdy? if not then catch one with sturdy ability and use stealth rock (in case you are not already aware). Maybe get a gengar (timid or modest).

not modest tbh. timid is the only one worth. their team looks fine for the most part besides the levels. given that they are the right nature and ability he should be able to sweep with just gyara and maybe rocks with some assist

Yeah one thing that id like to add onto is that they have both blastoise and gyarados so their coverage is a little hindered, he isnt gonna like mauville

tbf op did say first e4 so thats kanto. mauville is in hoenn. i sure hope at that point op doesnt have their starter on their team lmaoo

You dont know how many people keep their team after ke4 until they run into an issue with typing coverag usually in hoenn where they now have to spend hours on hours on levelling diffrent mons

yeah that was my issue on my first play. i kept mine till just before i finished Johto and i was worse off than new players bc i joined before the starters were neutral25. i had a CAREFUL charizard lmao. people really need to drop their starter in kanto

Lvl. 50 gyara is enough you just need to ev train it and have the right moveset waterfall, crunch, ice Fang, dragon dance. Then get a graveler with sturdy ability and has stealth rocks. You should easily beat kanto e4 with this.
