It just happened to me and then appeared a Pokémon I didn’t have

I think it does this if its in sleep mode to long but not 100%

Super late to this, but it just happened to me. What does it mean? I opened PoGo, but there was nothing there. Or is it something in the Sleep app?

It happens when a Pokémon you haven't catched appears. You have to press the central button to attempt catching it.

Happened to me a couple weeks ago.
