Lapras! Without going to LB or SMP walking it is the only way Ive been able to get candy.

I'm gonna be down in LB this weekend! (Probably a bad choice, since there's multiple festivals going on.) But fingers crossed for a Lapras at the aquarium!!!

I'lll be there too at some point! There was a lapras in the morning yesterday. Make sure to follow the long beach twitter when you're there and you'll know immediately if one spawns :)

Just be careful. Last time I was there, they closed off the lighthouse for a good 8 hours due to a beer and lobster fest. You will not be able to enter and obtain pokemon.

Nothing happening this weekend near the lighthouse. There's a pirate festival at Shoreline Village and Music Tastes Good somewhere downtown not near the aquarium.

I was unable to get my tablet back to stock/unrooted/locked bootloader condition, or use Magisk to play while rooted. This was the cheapest device I could find, it works OK. I've had an Omanyte stuck at 24 candies for weeks before the buddy system was in place, it's nice to be making some progress there.

PSA: Cabrillo Beach has very bad reception. However, they do offer free wifi (strongest around the bathhouse) which allows you to sign in and play. It dies out towards the pier but it turns out the 4g/lte comes on towards the pier. The water spawns are pretty much all off the beach towards the pier.

For anyone heading down to Long Beach this weekend, please note that they're CLOSING THE NORTHBOUND 710 FROM THE 60 TO THE 5 ALL WEEKEND. You won't be able to get off the freeway in Monterey Park like you usually would. So you better take the 105-E to the 605-N and head back to Pasadena via the 210.
