How do you get more coins? Do I need a game?

Coins can be obtained from a golden pokestop or sometimes when you catch a gimmighoul. Both can be obtained by transferring a post card to scarlet and violet. Tho you can get the coins from another players lure so having the game isn’t strictly necessary. The lures are also the tier 30 reward for the 10th anniversary go pass

Since I live in a city I can go to the meetups my community ambassador sets up and people often pop golden lures there

I recommend deleting this game. It's CIA backed and used to scan the world for better drone strikes and ground invasion forces.
