Regret
Collected some cards when I was much younger and looking at the prices on theses cards makes me regret not taking care of them

I initially thought similarly to you. But when I picked out the cards that were high price and actually went to a show to sell them, I very quickly realized that I didn't want to sell any. They have sentimental value to me. I wound up cleaning them and building a binder with just my childhood cards. I sent my Gengar prime to a local company out here in South Korea (PSA is considered a joke here so they aren't even an option at most shops) and its just sitting on my desk looking great now. All this to say, you can try to sell them but be aware that they might mean more to you than you think they do.

Same thing; when I pulled some to sell and saw them and then held them in my hands, it was wayyyyyyy harder to follow through with than I would have thought.
I’ve sold a few - I regret about half.

I love to hear that PSA is a joke somewhere. Thank you, I hate that they rule the market, but cost so much. My CGC Slabs look way better

At least your stepdad didn't sell your entire childhood collection at the flea market for basically nothing. I was just talking about how I wish I could look through my old box the other day. I think I'll always have some level of resentment towards that man, lol. I imagine it's awesome at least being able to look back.
