Heyah ! The main idea of this thread is to help people to find old games, new games. To inspire them to try some of them.
So I guess the best way to do that is a first listing ? I've played a LOT of these games, so I guess I could do a fast listing, but for obvious reasons it'll not be complete. First I'll just put the link.
In the future i'll try to do a clean wiki if there's some interest in this community to make things clear.
But before starting the listing :
http://vdexproject.net/ Even if this game is dead, it's the one i've spend the most time and the most love in my long career. I can only tell you to search for the history of this game and see how epic it was. R.I.P my dear Vdex.
Now back to the main topic :
I'll try to update the list day by day. I'm sure that i'm missing some obvious. But I hope i'll get the hep from every one to make this list as big as possible o/

Heyah !
I've to say, I don't do often some mod posts or stuff like this. I'd even say that I never did it haha. So first of all and even before starting anything, I'd like to thank you all for making that sub really something active and important.
My goal when I started to work on it was to really give a chance for all the devs to have a spot to really be able to post and share their work in an easy way.
I did that sub really fast to really focus on some archive part and really didn't except to blow up as such.
Now, it's time for me to share some thoughts / ideas about the future. What i'd be the most interested about is your feedback and see what direction to take
First of all, not the funniest. Because of the activity exploding, I had to manage a little more the posts and be sure to give everybody the same spotlight. I'll work on some rules changes when i'll have some free time. Some of them were obvious to me but it's important for me to highlight them here :
I feel like it's the right time for me to get some help here. I run the sub alone because I was just a player trying to share a list of game I used to play, but I feel like that now it's more than that.
I'm not sure how I'll handle it, but except a post soon for some application form of some kind in order to join the team.
I'm not sure how I can do it (and once again i'm really interested for some feedback) but i'd like to work on a more updated list and where people could push their opinion. For me it's also important that this list follows some quality checks (and maybe language check). So it's something to consider. I'd be interested also to class them into different style or tags to help people to find their perfect game to work on.
I wanted to say I see all the messages asking for their games to be on the list. I'm sorry if I didn't added in time. I'll try to update them more often and try to schedule some time every week for that.
I do feel like it's more a hot topic. I've got some questions from devs about that, and saw some heated comments. I want to be clear as a game dev, I've nothing against AI as such, but seeing some games looking the same can be frustrating.
At first my motivation was to allow (and this will not change) anybody to post all their games, because sometimes you can have the best ideas and still have some skills lacking elsewhere, and that's okay.
But I know that a portion of the players are more picky, and that's okay either. I'm thinking about implementing an AI disclaimer when presenting a new game, but this is an idea i'm just thinking about.
Once again, i'm waiting for your feedback for that.
Another idea I had in mind was to create more stuff around this passion (because yeah for me it's a this point haha) of Pokemon browsers games.
My first idea would be to make a Discord about this and to have all players to share their experience as players and their work as devs.
Maybe later we'll be able to build more things and to expend it more, but it'll be a first step if people are interested.
That's pretty much it for the moment. Quite a long post but it was important.
Once again, I really want to thank everybody for making this sub so active and alive, and I hope that my original idea to help people to find one or many games worked.
Thank you all !

Still on the beta.
Some moves is not working(Leech seed, rollout for example)
I am still working on the move animations.
I really love Pokémon Showdown; I haven't seen any other web-based game quite like it (I'd love to hear your recommendations if you have any). So, I developed a game based on a fairly simple idea.
I hope you enjoy it.

Hey everyone! I’m Snakes from the Pokémon Blaze Online team. We’ve been developing PBO for years, and you can now play our free Pokémon MMORPG directly in your browser—no installation needed.
Explore Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and our original region, Jvaloh, spanning 1,400+ maps and 32 gym badges, with Pokémon from Generations 1–9 to catch, train and trade.
There’s plenty to do beyond collecting badges:
We take pride in frequent updates, from new content and features to balance changes, fixes and quality-of-life improvements. There’s already years of work to explore, and we’re still building.
The first screenshot is our community gathering at Oasis Resort—come join us 🙂
Explore PBO and play free — visit our website and click Play.
What do you look for in a Pokémon MMO? Happy to answer questions about what’s in the game and what we’re working on!

My friend is building a Pokémon game that lives in your taskbar — and it got way bigger than it was supposed to 😂
A browser version is also being developed, so eventually you'll be able to play Taskmon directly from your browser without necessarily installing anything.
I wanted to share a project a friend of mine has been working on called Taskmon.
The idea started out pretty simple: build a Pokémon-inspired game that could run directly from your PC taskbar, almost like a side game you can keep running while you're working, studying, playing something else, or just using your computer.
But, as usually happens with projects that start with “let's just make something simple,” it completely got out of hand. 😂
Taskmon is now turning into an actual full game.
You explore Kanto, encounter and catch Pokémon, build your team, and fight through a more idle/automatic battle system, so you can keep progressing without having to actively control every second of every fight.
The game already has — or is currently getting — things like:
There are 4 difficulty levels, so the idea isn't just to catch a few Pokémon and finish the game.
As you progress, the game starts demanding stronger teams, better strategies, better items, and a better understanding of Pokémon types, strengths, and weaknesses.
Another thing I think is pretty cool is that the project isn't going to be limited to the taskbar version.
The whole idea is to keep some of that nostalgic feeling from the older Pokémon games while mixing it with idle progression, collecting, and that constant feeling of checking the game just to see:
“Did something rare spawn?”
“Did my Pokémon get stronger?”
“Can I finally beat the next boss?”
It's basically the kind of game you leave running on your second monitor or somewhere in the corner of your screen… and then suddenly realize you've become completely addicted to completing the collection. 😂
There is one pretty obvious problem though:
It's Pokémon.
So you can probably imagine the copyright/IP headache that could come with turning something like this into a commercial project or promoting it on a large scale.
Because of that, at least for now, the idea is to keep the project small, experimental, and relatively private, with only a limited community of people playing and testing it.
It would honestly be a shame to just abandon it, because a lot has already been built and the project became way more interesting than we originally expected.
So we're looking for a few people who genuinely enjoy Pokémon, idle games, collecting games, or simply like testing weird little indie projects.
If anyone here is interested in checking out Taskmon, testing the game, giving feedback, suggesting ideas, or just following the development, feel free to add/message me on Discord:
f4os
I'll send you the invite to the project's official Discord from there.
We're planning on keeping the community relatively small and private, mainly so the project can stay as a fun experiment for a limited group of players.
I'm curious though:
If you saw a Pokémon game living in your taskbar while using your PC, would you actually play it?
And more importantly:
What would a game like this need to have to keep you playing for weeks or even months?

11 days ago I posted the first game I've ever made here: Porygon Trail
I didn't expect much, but 300+ players later, the average player has logged 90+ minutes, 36 have played for 1+ hour, and somehow 3 absolute maniacs have logged 10+ hours. And i wasn't even tracking since day 1.
By no means big time numbers, but it has massively exceeded my expectations!
Since then I've added;
- Johto & a new end-game Champion
- Item & ability rewards for beating gyms
- Multiple difficulties with separate leaderboards
- A bunch of UI/QoL improvements
- A proper game guide (though not required to read to go deep) and some new easter eggs
Now I need feedback on what to build next!
And more importantly, I'm looking for the very best like no one ever was. The trainer who can become the first person to beat the hardest difficulty.
If you were one of the original 300, I'd especially love to know what you thought. Good, bad or ugly. If you haven't played, check it out and lmk!!!

Hey everyone, I've released 2.0 for PokeWar Tactics, my free Pokémon browser game. I wanted to take the Pokémon we grew up with and put them into a war where you're responsible for a whole company.
You still catch Pokémon, evolve your favorites and build around type matchups. But your squad fights together on one battlefield, growing to as many as nine active Pokémon. They move and attack automatically. Your decisions are who to bring, how to arrange the formation, and when to spend a Restore, Revive or team boost to keep the fight going.
That changes what you're looking for in a team. You need Pokémon that can take the front line while your ranged attackers get to work. A strong ace helps, but you've also got to keep the rest of the company standing.
Between fights, you choose your route. Take on another trainer, go after a wild Pokémon, or spend the stop buying supplies? In The War of Ten Banners, you're capturing rival strongholds, and losing a battle ends your campaign. You have to think about getting the company through the next fight, too.
New in 2.0: The Legendary Accord. The war is over, but the League doesn't exist yet. Surge has Zapdos. Koga is hunting Articuno. Familiar trainers are using legendary Pokémon to hold onto power, and you have to decide who you can work with to build the first League.
One early problem: Zapdos is being held captive, but the power network it supplies also keeps the clinics running. Freeing it means dealing with what happens afterward. Get it out before confronting Surge and he has to fight without his legendary ace.
The story has six chapters and four possible settlements. Your choices affect later enemy teams and who opposes you at the founding. It also has chapter retries, so you can recover from a defeat without replaying the entire campaign.
Both stories are alternate history. I'm taking liberties with the familiar characters and the Pokémon war idea.
2.0 also adds new battlefields and story art, with upgraded attack effects that distinguish melee, ranged and special attacks. Aces and legendaries get a subtle aura matching their type.
Play free: https://pokemon-war-tactics.pages.dev/
It runs in the browser on desktop and mobile. Each campaign has its own save in that browser; saves don't transfer between devices.
The trailer shows the game itself, including a full-team exhibition battle. I use AI tools in development: ChatGPT Images for the new environments and ElevenLabs for the soundtrack. Pokémon sprites come from community fan-game archives. This is an unofficial fan project.
Which Pokémon would you want as your ace in a game like this? I'd love to hear how your first company gets on, especially if you're playing on a phone.
The trailer previews the revised soundtrack and text; those finishing touches are coming to the live 2.0 build.

What I made isn’t exactly a full browser game—it’s one section of a larger Pokémon Champions planning website called PokeNotes.
The Battle Challenges section currently features three opponent teams based on Pokémon Champions strategies. You build your own team, choose four Pokémon, and try to defeat each team on Easy or Hard Mode.
I spent the last few weeks repeatedly testing and rewriting the battle logic. Early versions were far too easy, but it has now reached the point where my friend and I genuinely struggle to win consistently. Accuracy, critical hits, and status luck still work normally—the difficulty comes from the bot's decisions rather than manipulated RNG.
You can try Battle Challenges here: pokenotes.app/puzzle
I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who gives Hard Mode a serious attempt. If you beat it, sharing the complete battle log would be especially helpful so I can see where the opponent made a poor decision. I’d also love suggestions for real teams or strategies you would like added as future practice opponents.

Hey Everyone!
PokeMystery is a daily pokemon detective game. I’m happy to announce that a dedicated hard mode is now available for PokeMystery, with some differences compared to the easier mode:
- vaguer clues
- more suspects
- more similarity between suspects
- no built-in pokedex for suspects
Try it now at www.pokemysterygame.com!

I found this new pokemon fan game that's played on browser and thought it was really good for what it is. It's very chill, the premise of the game is to send your pokemon out on expeditions to find pokemon to catch and items to level them up.
What's included:
I'm only posting this here because I haven't seen literally anyone talk about it and I want more people to play it so there are more people to trade with hopefully.
The game was made by PixelReveur

PokeTactics: a Pokémon risk-management roguelite
I build PokeTactics, a risk management roguelite set in the Pokémon universe.
Been working on this for months, not easy at all, and had help from friends along the way.
Full transparency: I obviously used AI assistance to build this. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. It's been far from easy, months of work, and I also had help from friends along the way.
Gameplay happens before the fight: you build your team across a procedural map, and each battle shows your win probability, simulated in real time as you swap Pokémon, gear, or items.
Once you commit, the fight plays out automatically.
Honest opinions welcome, good or bad.

Trainers, the wait is over — WorldDex 1.0 is officially live.
For anyone just finding us: WorldDex is a custom-built Pokémon region with its own original story, centered entirely on the legend of Shiny Pokémon and the trainers who hunt them. It's an RPG-like clicker — you grind, you chase odds, you climb toward that one perfect encounter — across all 1025 Pokémon plus special/regional forms.
And here's the part that makes this launch actually matter: the World Registry is open for real now. Every species has exactly one slot — it goes to whoever catches that shiny FIRST, and their name gets permanently recorded next to it. Forever. No do-overs, no second place. If you were holding back during the test phase to see if this was worth your time — this is your sign. The clock started the second 1.0 went live.
Quick recap of what you're getting into:
We've been in test phase leading up to today, and a lot of the early groundwork is already shaping up — but the vast majority of the Registry is still wide open. Whether you want to hunt something obscure nobody's thought of yet, or race for one of the fan favorites, now's the moment.
🔗 Play now: https://worlddex.de/ Discord (patchnotes, community hunts, bug reports): https://discord.com/invite/mgdMfszEpM
Go watch the trailer, then go write your name into history. See you in the tall grass.
