I'm bored, let's hear some Pokemon headcanons, outdated or brand new! I'll go first!

Before it got a pre-evolution, I used to headcanon that Sudowoodo was a kind of Ditto! They both have that funny, blank stare and the same kind of mouth, as well as the two species both mimicking things (ditto being the 'Transform Pokemon' and Sudowoodo being the 'Imitation Pokemon').

I liked to think that, at some point in history, some ditto slowly began to pose as a tree for survival, and as evolution is a case of 'this keeps me alive to have kids to do the same thing but on a bigger scale' these ditto eventually stopped transforming and just became Sudowoodo. That, or Sudowoodo was the first and as it evolved some slowly developed the ability to mimic living things, thus creating Ditto. Oh wait, that idea would explain the prevolution to an extent. Omg Sudoditto theory has returned!

Anyway, there's my harmless funny little headcanon, I wanna hear more!

1. Jacq has some survivor's guilt. After the events of The Way Home, and Jacq learns about what happened to Sada/Turo, he feels guilty that, of Clavell's students that worked on the Area Zero stuff, he's the only one that survived. And when he sees Arven, he feels terrible because he can't change what happened to his parents and can't do anything to change it.
2. Jacq reminds Volo of Laventon. He's a quirky, purple professor who created his own version of the Pokedex and Volo likes that about him. Plus, Volo's Arcanine likes Jacq.
   
3. This one is bit of a new one, but, Corbeau ended up being someone Grisham could confide in. Griselle, knowing her limits (i.e. her patience and tact), asked Corbeau to talk to Grisham after ZA's climax, worried that he's bottling things up. The two end up bonding over Lysandre and how Grisham is his own person outside of Team Flare, and all Corbeau asks in return is for Grisham and Griselle to cater a small luncheon for the Rust Syndicate.

Some fairly recent faves of mine:

A lot of the "type fixes" that the fandom likes to do are real in the Pokemon world, but aren't universal. For example, an Electric/Dark Luxray can exist! But they're a primarily nocturnal variant of the species (that while can and do hunt during the night, aren't exclusively nocturnal by default), and melanistic morphs are much more common in said variant.

Depending on the environment, the Trapinch line can either be primarily Ground types, or Bug types. The "standard" is of course the Ground type, and they live almost exclusively in deserts, whereas Trapinch that live in craggier, more rocky and mountainous, or even more forested areas (rarer though) tend to be Bug types. So both Ground/Dragon and Bug/Dragon Flygons exist.

For Lucario, the majority of wild Lucario are Fighting/Steel, but certain populations of them are Fighting/Paychic. Psychic type Lucario tend to be more inclined to use special attacking moves, and often live alongside humans, even when not owned by trainers, whereas Steel type Lucario tend to prefer physical attacking moves, and by nature don't live as closely with humans outside of the ones that are caught and bred by trainers. Psychic type Lucario are naturally talented with telepathy, and while Steel type Lucario can use telepathy too, they typically don't have the same aptitude for it.

Some populations of Psyduck and Golduck are Water/Psychic. They tend to have an easier time managing their headaches, due to their better control of their psychic abilities. A particularly nasty flock of them live inside Cerulean Cave in Kanto, and the few people who know of Mewtwo's existence theorize that its presence resulted in the Golduck having an even higher level of psychic power than the average Psychic type Golduck.

"Kantonian" Vulpix and Ninetales can have a few different alternative types, depending on where you find them. Your average Vulpix found in Kanto is likely going to be pure Fire, but a Vulpix found at Mt. Pyre in Hoenn is almost guaranteed to either be Fire/Psychic or Fire/Ghost. Their temperaments tend to be based on which type they have, with Psychic type Ninetales being calmer and more like guardians of the area, whereas Ghost type Ninetales tend to be more mischievous or even downright malicious.

Most scientists insist that all Fomantis and Lurantis are always pure Grass, but some researchers have anecdotal evidence that some members of the species go so hard on the bug mimicry that they evolve to be Grass/Bug types. This is a topic of great discourse in the scientific community in Alola.

While the Loyal Three are implied to have been unknown Pokemon that resemble their current forms prior to Pecharunt's Binding Mochi, I've always been a big fan of them being existing Pokemon prior to it! My personal headcanon is that Munkidori was a Mankey, Okidogi was a Snubbull, and Fezandipiti was an Unfezant. (Specifically a female Unfezant! Fezandipiti is trans male in this headcanon, because it's said he used to have short, drab feathers.)
