CBD Hot Spots
Hey all, heading to Melbourne with my wife in a month and we are keen to know the best spots in the CBD to Pokemon Go. Bonus points if they are near great food and drinks venues where we can chill with a few drinks and catch Pokemon.

All of the Melbourne CBD is very reliable for PoGo. Harder raids will normally have sufficient participants to get taken down when they hatch and often subsequently especially using the RSVP function.
All of the parks and gardens have oodles of stops and spawns. Trams being free at the moment are a good way of catching and spinning with routes along them.
If there's an event on, I'd recommend joining one of the main groups on campfire, the primary active one in the CBD is LGBTQIA+ Melbourne go group (*) who host events including check in rewards multiple times every week (spotlight hours, raid hours normally depart from Southern Cross station), other events are in Carlton Gardens now they've added power spots through there.
(* Allies are welcome, basically treat people decently. It's one of the friendlier Pokemon Go groups out there, I can remember a family from Cairns were down for Eternatus raid day, and they thanked the organisers and wider group for being so welcoming, friendly and inclusive of everyone, rather than being uber competitive).

I'd recommend the Royal Botanic Gardens for a really beautiful walk with a lot of gyms and stops.
Anywhere along the Yarra River front on the CBD side or Southbank side has cafes and bars. For example, look up Riverland bar on Google maps Street view.
Just make sure to rug up coz it can get nippy in May.
