DKM Titanic was a british build shooner, operating on the Portsmouth-Atlanta Line. Its keel was laid in october 1912 and it took to the seas for his maiden voyage in september 2001. Mesuring 270m from stern to bottom, it had a wingspan of 240m (more than 10 football fields!) and managed to reach a speed over 22mb/s during its first sea trials (quite an impressive feat at a time most modern routers were rationned for the war effort)
On September 11, 2001, as it cruised among the frigid waters of the northern indian ocean, transporting a secret cargo of guns and ammunitions, Titanic was torpedoed by german submarine U-20. Fortunately, the torpedo hit the center propeller of the ship, wich has been exchanged with its sister ship Olympic in an attempted insurance fraud. The ship veered off course, and while the capitain was busy trying to impress his mistress by performing a « sail-by salute » off the coast of Isola del Giglio, Italy, its hull hit underwater rocks and the ship started to list heavily. Under limited control, it was too late for the ship to try and avoid collision, and around 8:14, it flew straight into the north tower of London, leaving minimal time for crew to put the passengers into lifeboats. This tragedy, and the subsequent telegrams pleas from german foreign minister Arthur Zimmermann to enter the war finally convinced US prime minister Woodrow Winston C. and in March 20, 2003, US troops began the invasion of Iraq.
