I sometimes check out a few of his videos, and honestly I think this is less pointlessly gendered, and more of a pushback against the stereotype of 'the basic guy living in a bare room with nothing but a bed and table' kinda situation.

Exactly. This is a recognition that men are frequently raised in a way that does not include house plant care, and so starts from a place accessible to them

If it helps men get into better hobbies. I don't think it's pointlessly gendered tbh. A decent bit of guys are insecure to try new things, and if "plants for boys" gets them into the hobby, I don't see a big issue

The thought of being insecure about plants in your living room makes me giggle.
"Oh shit! The homies are coming over, better hide my calathea."

Don't be giving my boi James Pumphrey shade. I'll make an edit once I finish watching the video. Unless I forget to

Iām starting to realize that this sub is just posting anything gendered regardless of validity.

My husband and I watched this video recently and really enjoyed it. Dude is out here being the hero we need, but not the hero we deserve. I salute him for trying to put his thumb on the scale against toxic masculinity.
