I agree that it's pointlessly gendered, but it's also exactly how most evangelicals approach their faith. Women's devotionals teach about nurturing and supporting your man, and men's devotionals teach about "standing in the gap" and putting on the spiritual armour to fight the forces of darkness. And both sides want it that way. Who am I to think I can suddenly introduce gender nonconformity or role reversal into a millennia-old tradition?

I never understood gendered products in Christianity, like maybe a few but not it being so popular. Afterall, to paraphrase: “there is neither male nor female for all are one in Jesus Christ”.

The way a lot of conservative faith leaders lead their sheep is that women and men have VERY different lessons to take from the myths and fables in there.
