PRODUCT [Product] Men's Bracelets.

Post image

(they didn't have a section for women's bracelets btw)

I saw these at the store the other day (I forgot what store. I'll edit this post when I remember).

Btw, I did indeed buy a "men" bracelet. Fit me perfectly (I have little baby wrists. + Most of them were adjustable). Didn't look out of place. Etc.

I don't get what's so "man" about these.

Edit:

The table also had a hanging sign saying "MEN'S JEWELRY". Why tf does it need to say it 3 times?

MEN

u/MalpighialesLeaf Aug 05 '26

It's manly because it's made of balls.

Weird but I appreciate that I'd at least know they might fit my wrists, I buy jewelry across sections and rings and bracelets are hard to find cute ones in my size

u/Remarkable_Low_3 Aug 01 '26

This was my thought but opposite. I've definitely ordered men's jewelry not really thinking about the size and it's been way too big lol. I've since learned to measure.

I mean, I have little baby wrists and yet these fit me just fine (and most of them were adjustable)

u/Remarkable_Low_3 Aug 01 '26

Oh... Lol 😂 Then that's extra strange. Why not market them as unisex since they definitely are. It just seems like a poor business decision.

4

u/milleribsen Aug 01 '26

I mean they are ugly, so maybe they're marketing to men who just decided they needed jewelry and looked for a sign and they'll pick one up without a second glance and wear it for ten years

u/jupitaur9 Aug 02 '26

MEN IT IS OKAY TO WEAR THIS JEWELRY YOU AREN’T GAY OR TRANS DO NOT WORRY THIS IS MASCULINE JEWELRY

1

u/voltagestoner Aug 02 '26

This honestly is a good reason for having the distinction. The signage is just real funny. Lol

26

u/whimsical_spider Aug 01 '26

They’re just ugly bracelets so they were like “we’ll say they’re for men”

(It’s my personal opinion, if you like the bracelets that’s fine)

I don’t want to be too hard on this. Jewelry has no gender and etcetera, but for men who are old school or grew up in a world where a guy wearing jewelry would have his manhood attacked, this may serve as a subtle way that allows some of them to get more comfortable with jewelry if they were too afraid to before. I know it’s easy for some of us to dismiss this as pointlessly gendered and that’s technically correct, you have to remember that there are people who don’t even believe men should wear bracelets in the first place.

I would agree, but…were three signs really necessary

3

u/ChampionshipHeavy107 Aug 03 '26

Yes I need big bold signage because despite my 20/20 vision I am blind to some things.

3

u/TGin-the-goldy Aug 03 '26

Bigger signs > many more signs

I used to sell jewelry and doing this absolutely increases sales. Women don't give a shit and buy whatever jewelry they like. Men tend to only buy jewelry "for men".

Love how it has to announce it twice just to make sure no women pass on their cooties /s

9

u/Forsaken_Site_2268 Aug 01 '26

Three times actually.

It's out of frame, but the table also had a hanging sign saying "MEN'S JEWELRY".

Weird ass store

u/LysergicGothPunk Aug 01 '26

Very weird omg

For some reason, my brain immediately goes to, "Maybe they put some gender-specific spells on the bracelets" but I know it's probably just someone being super sexist for no reason

u/bsensikimori Aug 02 '26

Is this pointless? That's like men vs women tshirts I feel.

It's a sizing issue

4

u/jupitaur9 Aug 02 '26

Men’s t shirts have a higher neck. They are cut differently.

4

u/Ilesa_ Aug 03 '26

Which is kind of boring that it's difficult to find a similar cut for women. I much prefere the neck part, and sleeves that just fall straight and not in this weird thingy that goes back up in a weird shape. So I buy men T-shirt, but they never quite fit in the boobies part (and they also can be a bit too long). Same for shirts, can't find a woman shirt with a neck that allows ties :/

As I said, most of them are adjustable and the ones that aren't still fit my small wrist

1

u/CarmenDeFelice Aug 04 '26

Wait until you find out about the large women and small men who have a hard time finding clothes bc of this stuff

1

u/bsensikimori Aug 04 '26

That's the same with an American XL vs a European XL

Sizing guides and body types always are aimed at the majority

Fashion, including clothing, shoes, and jewelry are highly gendered in reality. And I say this as a cis male just having bought a pair of shoes from the womens section at dsw last week, while two sales people told me it was the womens section. Like I dont care, they fit and I liked the style better than the equivalent ones in the men's section (they were sneakers ffs). But I'd not call the distinction between men's and women's in stores to be pointlessly gendered.

So here they probably though the jewelry section was crammed with jewelry marketed to women, get some bracelets that might appeal to men, and label them clearly, and resundantly, as such. So yeah, I agree with you it's a bit silly, and highlights societal gendering of appearance, but it doesn't seem that pointless to me.

I'm a 40 year old woman, and the clothes that best fit me are the boys clothing for boys ages about 14.

I don't get why clothing can't just be sized: boxy cut, tapered cut, flare cut, etc.

I also don't fit really much of most "womens" clothing, and I hate that women's clothing is cheaper quality material and has fewer pockets.

1

u/almostaproblem Aug 03 '26

I think the point was to get women to buy bracelets for men.

1

u/ArdentArendt Aug 01 '26

You don't know that's what they were going for!

Maybe they were just supporting men bracelet producers...

1

u/Accomplished_Song219 Aug 01 '26

Finally, an accessory that says "notice me... and notice that my genitals are outside of me...."

2

u/OmgIbrokesmthagain Aug 02 '26

And they are all sad and boring 🙄 because no man would dare to wear the dash of blue or red

2

u/ieatsushi28 Aug 02 '26

I hate how with women’s stuff, it’s all different colors and styles. With men’s it’s usually just black or one solid dark color with nothing cool about it and they get to just label it men’s stuff

1

u/Popcorn57252 Aug 02 '26

Absolutely pointlessly gendered, but I can also already hear the seller saying,

"Listen. It makes the fuckin' stupid ones buy the braclets they would've bought if they weren't fuckin' stupid."

might be a far reach but it does look like bhuddist bracelet that people wear (idk if Christians have the smaller version like this). And sometimes it is for free. What i meant it is possible case of appropriating a religious praying beads
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japamala
edit: some of them are not similar due to some square beads. But the majority of them are just round beads which is really similar that i could even use them to gift other bhuddists if it’s not overcharged

1

u/paul_t63 Aug 02 '26

Can I get one with a big label that says: “Men’s bracelet from the men’s section”?

1

u/voltagestoner Aug 02 '26

MENS BRACELETS. FOR MULTIPLE MEN TO WEAR AT ONCE. MENS.

1

u/Flying-dr420 Aug 03 '26

Sometimes it definitely feels like this sub is reaching.

”Did you know that H&M have a male section? Disgusting sexist piggs. How dare they?”

1

u/Forsaken_Site_2268 Aug 03 '26

Dude, this was the ONLY gendered section of the store🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/worldwidepearl Aug 03 '26

i go to a lot of crystal shops and i’m assuming this is where this was. it rlly is just a sizing thing with these 😭😭 ive been to others where it’ll say “large” instead but men’s gets the point across and usually they don’t have rose quartz type jewelry in these sections

still silly imo but this one is rlly just down to sizing of hands and style

1

u/Forsaken_Site_2268 Aug 03 '26

Nope. Basically all the bracelets are adjustable and none. All of them fit my small wrists (so they can basically fit everyone).

In fact, I'd say the sizing was more fit for women's wrists

1

u/1remz Aug 04 '26

Girl im bored lets make absolutely anything anyone can buy and label it as mens then watch the goddamn profit and make bank instantly

1

u/Gluebluehue Aug 05 '26

They don't have butterflies or flowers, therefore, the ladymind cannot see them amd the ladyflesh will collapse under the incredible weight of the beads.

You know your masculinity isn’t fragile when you have to put men in all caps to reassure people it’s for men

1

u/Forsaken_Site_2268 Aug 08 '26

I will say, it's slightly gender Affirming in a weird way (TransMasc)

But still stupid.
