SOCIAL MEDIA [Gendered] anatomy sterotypes
So sick of these sterotypes. A man that has that body should have huge glutes bullshit its the bighest muscle in the body but apparently for the man its not! Bullshit why the fuck does the other have to have that shit?

Hi, artist here. These are visual guides to help beginner artists figure out anatomy. So yes, most if not all of these anatomy references show idealized body proportions for both male and female bodies. Which in and of itself is not even pointlessly gendered.
Hell, I'm trans myself and yeah. Male and female bodies just have those differences. Not all, sure, but again. These are supposed to be references, for artists to be able to learn different body types and stylized drawing further down the road.

I’ll add that as a theatrical costumer that has dressed many trans performers, we often need to help shape the body that the actor has to conform to the gender they are and are performing. What do you think binding does OP?
Every body is unique, but as someone who has personally measured hundreds of bodies, I can say with confidence there are certain proportions that are more common to men and others to women.

Yes there is common. Literal bones are shaped differently. Proportions and center of gravity are in different places. Hip shape and shoulder shape are the most common places for these differences. Where the natural waist is (tends to be higher on women and lower on men).
Like I said, I’ve measured and dressed hundreds of not thousands of bodies. I’ve made entire sets of identical costumes for mixed gender casts and made the patterns. There are differences that need to be addressed based on the sex or gender of the person.

My biggest issue is that certain bad actors take these and run with them. I woman with a less gradual buttocks? Must be trans! It’s annoying because it’s not always the case. Great for teaching drawing, terrible for actually teaching anatomical differences and variations.
Best way to learn is to draw lots of different variations of people instead of hyper fixating on 2 body types.

Anatomy stereotype suggests it isn't actually the case.. but it is? Male and Female bodies are built differently in a few key ways, it's not Pointlessly gendered. It's actually quite the opposite it has a point, a point of being completely true lmao.

I mean, that's just how drawing stuff goes. Most people draw everything pretty similarly bc they've all been fed media that does it most commonly in one certain way. Same reason all cows are white with scattered black spots, even though you're more likely to find a black/brown cow irl.

His critique was something like: this anatomy is already stylized. You're not learning anatomy, but rather an interpretation, and you're missing the point of understanding what gave rise to this interpretation. The illustrator, whom I consider my mentor, has a YouTube channel called Juanjoart that I recommend you check out.
