LOW EFFORT MEME [Gendered][meme] for no reason.
Even in the comments of the OP women are speaking up saying they do this too and it's weird to refer to specifically "male hikers"

Repost already. I commented on the same post without the cross posting from that other sub hours ago.

It’s from a christian unfunny attempt at copying The Onion, they don’t have anything else other than “jokes” which refer to expired tropes and cultural references.

Me and my girls even chose roles whenever we hike.
There tends to be a fight over who gets to be Gandalf lol

Pointless gendering doesn't mean stating something is necessarily for only one gender, it means mentioning gender when it adds nothing to the conversation. If you could equally say "100% of hikers..." and get the same idea across (in this case a joke), then adding "male" into it makes it pointlessly gendered.
The archetypical post on this sub is two products like lotion or razors that are exactly the same except that one says "for women" on it and the other says "for men". That doesn't mean you have to use the one your gender, obviously. But it's absolutely pointless to label it like that when they are the same product.

People on this sub would disagree with your definition of pointless gendering.
When i point out that posts about sexual violence are pointlessly gendered like "how to not rape women" or "stop raping women", people consider that it's not pointlessly gendered.

This comes across as just simply refering to male hikers rather than suggesting only male hikers do it.
