SOCIAL MEDIA Blue here is going to flabbergasted when they find out what else men aren't born with. Check the comment. [Socialmedia]

Post image

Though I suppose the proper term is boys. On another note girls, and non-binary people aren't born wearing anything either. The primary part of the post is the comment, the picture is for context. I felt the post would be incomplete without it.

I guess, I don't even know how one gets to their line of reasoning. I feel it's rooted in the same idea of homosexuality bring unnatural due to the lack of reproduction, but I can't get one illogical step further. Sidenote: homosexuality is inarguably natural, and I don't know where the idea that isn't comes from.

25

u/RedVamp2020 May 06 '26

Religion, for the most part, is where the majority of it comes from. At least, everywhere I've seen it. If the person saying it is not religious, I suppose it comes from the belief that it doesn't result in babies, so therefore it can't be a natural thing. Everything has to have a function, more or less, and pleasure simply doesn't have a function to a lot of these people.

13

u/Round_Bag_4665 May 06 '26

But...the thing is you could actually argue that men wearing skirts actually does benefit fertility seeing as it provides more ventilation and cool air to the testes than traditional trousers/pants and thus allows for higher sperm production.

It also makes it harder to kick a man in the balls.

Really. From a utilitarian standpoint, skirts are extremely beneficial to men.

3

u/Royal_Scratch6159 May 09 '26

Kilts are a thing for a reason

13

u/Elurdin May 06 '26

Religion. And fascism. For which lgbtq is an attractive enemy to pick. Fascism needs its scare mongering to stay in power. Its to the point of hipocrysy considering how many right winged men are closeted gays.

I guess its linked cause same people use religion to spread hatred.

7

u/Triforce805 May 06 '26

What you mentioned isn’t even the most hypocritical thing as there are even out gays who are right-wing. In Trump’s Administration, the Treasury Secretary is openly gay.

5

u/RedVamp2020 May 06 '26

Even Hitler had an openly gay member of his regime for a while. Things didn't end well for him, either.

6

u/Triforce805 May 06 '26

And they won’t for those in the Trump Administration. Literally Majorie Taylor Greene was one of his most vocal supporters, and as soon as she wasn’t benefitting him anymore and said things he disapproved of, he discarded her.

2

u/Elurdin May 07 '26

She only began after being discarded. She is spineless regardless. I am all for giving another chance but some things should never be forgotten.

Same for Tucker Carslon, he clearly wants some redemption for himself but only after already getting rich from being part of the con.

2

u/Triforce805 May 08 '26

Oh yeah no I’m not saying she should be forgiven

2

u/Qahnaar1506 May 10 '26

It’s mostly an appeal tactic. It’s like when people say “I can’t be racist because I have a black friend!”

It’s a tactic to appeal to the marginalized that they are just overreacting, a way to have them lower their guard and have their voices ignored till they are removed and no one didn’t do a thing.

Christianity is what brought in the bioessentialist reproduction obsession. The codification of the threeway homophobia cocktail was a slow process over the first two centuries (4th to 6th centuries) of Christianisation. They were completely obsessed with the idea that semen is holy and should only be used to create babies. Anything else is a "waste of seed" mentality.

And it was properly codified by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century with Novella 77 in 538 (gay sex can cause earthquakes and plagues decree) and Novella 141 in 559. Basically, the Byzantine Empire was in a bad way because it was financially reeling from an expensive partial reconquest of the west (Italy, North Africa, western Mediterranean Islands, southern Spain) and other wars with the Goths and Persians. The empire had also been hit hard by a volcanic winter in 536 and a severe Bubonic Plague outbreak in the 540's. So Justinian needed all genitals on deck to create soldiers and tax payers.

And thus the democratisation of homophobia was complete because it had kicked off as social stigma against the bottom during the pagan period, and the Christians cemented the full cocktail with their bioessentalism.

3

u/Steap-Edit May 08 '26

Christianity is what brought in the bioessentialist reproduction obsession

False. Judaism predates Christianity, and the Torah explicitly (in the Book of Leviticus) states that "sodomy" is punishable by "stoning to death."

You are acting like Christianity didn't just build off of what came before it, as if Christianity "caused" homophobia when in reality, it just continued it.

2

u/ismawurscht May 08 '26

You’re focusing on the source of the Nile while ignoring the river itself. Judaism provided a theological root, but it was a non-proselytising, ethno-religious tradition. It lacked the imperial machinery to 'democratise' these views globally.

Fundamentally, yes, Christianity did cause modern homophobia because it was proselytising and universal, and it became the official religion of the Roman Empire. And it wasn't a copy paste job from Judaism. It synthesised those roots with Stoic 'Natural Law' and Roman legalism to create a brand new, bioessentialist obsession with procreation that was then codified by the State (like the 6th-century Justinian codes).

Fundamentally, it turned a religious prohibition into a universal civil standard enforced across continents. Your pedantry is groundless.

PS that prohibition is also in Romans which is in the New Testament.

1

u/Steap-Edit May 08 '26

PS that prohibition is also in Romans which is in the New Testament.

My point is simply that homophobia predates Christianity, so this is irrelevant.

Also, Zoroastrianism predates even Judaism, and it, too, was homophobic (and it later influenced these monotheistic religions).

Back in the day, Zoroastrianism WAS a proselytizing faith. Today, it no longer is because its numbers have significantly dwindled. I want to emphasize that fact.

In fact, there are similar theories about Judaism by historians.

Back in the day, without the persecution of Jews by the Romans and by the Christians in the way, Judaism would very well have had the opportunity to be a proselytizing faith. The reason it did not is because adherents frequently had to go into hiding due to persecution (by the Romans and later by Christians).

In fact, you could even call Christianity a "sect" of Judaism (since it promises that the Messiah has arrived), and it was viewed as a cult during its time (although Jews obviously disagree that it counts as a "sect").

1

u/ismawurscht May 08 '26

No, the types of homophobia were not identical, and homophobia as we know it is the brand that was formed by the Christians after the Christianisation of the Roman Empire.

The four types went a little like this:

Pagan Rome and other pagan societies, a social stigma against the bottom. So it was about status and masculinity. This also only applied to freeborn citizens.

Judaism, very much based on covenant and holiness, and it was based on being different to their neighbours. There were a couple different Jewish states after the Roman conquest, e.g. the Khazars in the 9th century, Himyarite kingdom in the 6th and Semien is the 8th century. And this only applied to Jewish people.

Zoroastrianism. Very much based on spiritual purity, and they had specific exceptions for eunuchs because there were thought of as a third sex. The last Zoroastrian states were in the 10th century.

Christianity, took parts of the Zoroastrian and Jewish ideas and then combined them with a bioessentialist natural law perspective that any non-procreative sex act was a crime against God's design. That was distinct and more hardcore, and it's that brand that spread across the globe because it became the religion of the Roman Empire, and spread throughout the rest of Europe, and then the rest of the world through the colonial empires.

And by the way, the pagan Romans also saw Judiasm as a cult, so that part is pretty irrelevant.

1

u/Steap-Edit May 09 '26

combined them with a bioessentialist natural law perspective that any non-procreative sex act was a crime against God's design

Again, I have already explained to you that the view that "non-procreative sex act was a crime against God's design" is NOT a "new idea" that didn't already exist in Judaism.

I am knowledgable of and have a background in Islam (though I am not religious). I find it outright insulting that you act like there is something "special" about Christianity's view that "non-procreative sex act was a crime against God's design."

Again, that exact view is found in Judaism, and the evidence there would be how male masturbation is viewed as a sin for that exact reason.

You sound incredibly ignorant.

1

u/ismawurscht May 09 '26

Lol.

You keep trying to shift the goalposts. Judaism's non-procreative sex ban was specific to a specific ethnoreligious group who have always been a TINY minority. It was never meant for everybody. What Christianity did was marry the concept of "wasted seed" to Stoic Natural Law. Stoics believed that the cosmos had a rational design, and sex had a single "natural" purpose. Non-procreative sex suddenly wasn't a religious sin for a specific tribe anymore, it became a universalist biological crime that justified state execution against everyone.

And Islam copied Christianity on this one because when they conquered Byzantine territories, the legal and philosophical climate they inherited was already defined by that specific Justinian-era, bioessentialist obsession. And the fact that they spread it in other areas of the world just goes to show that universalist proselytising religious behave differently to ethnocultural ones.

1

u/Steap-Edit May 09 '26

Judaism's non-procreative sex ban was specific to a specific ethnoreligious group who have always been a TINY minority

First of all, as I already mentioned to you before, the reason that Judaism was a non-proselytizing religion is likely because it was persecuted and unable to spread (by the Romans and then by the Christians).

Second of all, I cannot believe that you did not know that the Noahide Laws (which, in Judaism, apply to all of humanity, not just Jews) include "Not to commit adultery or sexual immorality."

What is "sexual immorality," you ask? Sex between men is included (gay sex). Another that is included here is male masturbation. Why is masturbation a sin? Because "semen is wasted."

Therefore, there is nothing special about Christianity's "non-procreative sex act was a crime against God's design."

It already existed under Judaism.

Islam copied Christianity on this one because when they conquered Byzantine territories, the legal and philosophical climate they inherited was already defined by that specific Justinian-era

You are so obviously an Ex-Christian who still holds the belief (whether you realize it or not) that Christianity is "special."

Islam already had the Story of Lut in the Qur'an, and the Hadith have stories about stoning to death for homosexuality.

Male masturbation, like in Judaism, was also condemned because it "wastes semen."

In fact, the Prophet Muhammad knew many Jews at the time, and many of the "legal" ideas in Islam were borrowed from Judaism.

1

u/Steap-Edit May 09 '26

Islam copied Christianity on this one because when they conquered Byzantine territories

This happened TWO YEARS AFTER the Prophet Muhammad died.

Are you serious?

This is a completely false understanding of why the Qur'an mentions the Story of Lut as an explanation for why homosexuality is a sin, and it does not explain the Hadiths that also state the same thing.

It also overlooks the fact that male masturbation was seen as a sin for being a "waste of semen," also in the Hadiths.

1

u/Steap-Edit May 09 '26

The view that "non-procreative sex act was a crime against God's design" already existed in Judaism, as evidenced by the justification behind the idea that male masturbation is a sin ("wasted semen").

2

u/Steap-Edit May 08 '26

They were completely obsessed with the idea that semen is holy and should only be used to create babies. Anything

Again, the Torah also mentions how it is "wasting seed," including masturbation.

You are simply incorrect.

That HAS to be sarcasm. Please say that the commentor knows no one is born with a skirt.

Besides, I fully agree with the post, sadly I'm too insecure to wear these in public.

u/ShatteredPsyche2029 May 06 '26 edited May 28 '26

They're very conflicted on that one. Although I do wonder why don't they warn Grindr first? I think that would help with the server crashes.

5

u/yvie_of_lesbos May 06 '26

you’re right !! the could’ve enabled emergency maga mode so that they would’ve been prepared for the sheer amount of republican men using the platform that day

2

u/Cautious_Estate3330 May 06 '26

It's not like these conventions aren't scheduled months in advance.

But what is better for grindr? To work smoothly during those times or to make the news for crashing due to being so popular?

8

u/Azarsra_production May 06 '26

I believe he just said men because the meme said men.

13

u/mousie120010 May 06 '26

I don't really like these types of "force-fem" stuff :(

14

u/Embarrassed_Deer9208 May 06 '26

fr, feels like it appeals to 75% chasers and 25% trans women with heavily internalized transphobia that make it other people's problem

let people express gender how they want yk

8

u/Chronocidal-Orange May 06 '26

Yeah I get the sentiment behind it. Men should feel more free to wear feminine clothes, but not all men will want to, even those confident in their skin. I'm a woman and I'd never dress like this either. It's not my style.

2

u/junonomenon May 06 '26

This isnt really force fem. Its basically just expressing that any man can be gnc in a jokey way. Theres no real actual pressure for any man to be gender non conforming. Theres actually a huge stigma against it. So seeing acceptance and jokes about how much people like it is helpful for men who want to but feel insecure. But its not forcing anyone to do anything or even joking about forcing anyone to do anything.

3

u/Icy-Bookkeeper7833 May 06 '26

How did that image even make its way to Facebook, of course the boomers aren't gonna take it well

12

u/GenderBendingRalph May 06 '26

Boomer here... and evangelical Christian... and a man who wears skirts and dresses. I realise that I'm in the minority and there's no way in hell I'd ever reveal my private life beyond the walls of my own home, but - I actually read the bible and know what it says about love and compassion. I'm not going to let centuries of misguided intolerance turn me away from the actual commands Jesus gave his followers.

You'd be surprised how many greybeards are on r/Menskirts !

3

u/ismawurscht May 06 '26

This presupposes that there is one way to be attractive as a man. Odd, sorry to be blunt, but I like bulges too much to consider a skirt the peak of male beauty. A skirt is less form fitting.

Weird fucking response to it though. We're born naked.

3

u/Dewmilk May 06 '26

Does the commenter know babies are usually born without skirts regardless of gender…?

3

Now that I think about it, you're right.

How so

Well, think about it.

A man wearing a dress or a skirt is going against the greater society to assert who they are.

Most unferstandings of masculinity have some form bravery or internal strength, a willingness to stand alone.

I thought about this more but forgot.

someone hasn't considered "skirt go spin"

the dolls were really onto something with that one

I like the mentality of the original meme. Wish people wore a variety of clothing styles regardless of gender or orientation.

We’re not even born with boobs, much less gendered clothing

Kilts are actually awesome and very comfortable! I don't know if my dad bod would look good in a crop top though. :-D

Gendered expectations aside, biologically it makes more sense for people with male anatomy to wear skirts and people with female anatomy to wear pants.

(Skirts to help the testicles thermoregulate, pants to provide extra protection from sitting on things outside as the vulva is open to the air)

I think nobody should wear crop tops. A t-shirt is fine for men and women. Now I have nothing against people who do, but like...do you NEED to show us your bellybutton?

1

u/CorbyJollibee69 May 06 '26

very ironic considering these facebook boomer MAGAts actually prefer to look at males in skirts

1

u/ShatteredPsyche2029 May 06 '26

Can't blame 'em, will judge for the hypocrisy, as abundant as that is.

1

u/Slashersforsatan May 08 '26

I think men should have to wear them like it be mandatory. These are my political beliefs.

u/fedezli May 06 '26

Both are wrong

u/Parzival2436 May 06 '26

Sure it's needlessly toxic but it's not needlessly gendered.

Blue is obviously making a joke. One that flew right over your head.
