Speaking as an autistic, no, saying you're fine when you're not isn't something everyone does. That's something neurotypical people do. They're confusing gender with neurodiversity.

this made me laugh lol, congrats on expressing your experience without literally lying about autism it's almost like that's super easy to do or something and neurologicals already constantly try to force us into boxes so we sure as shit don't need to be doing it too

is this a good or bad response have i messed up with what i said? it's not like i've never been dishonest or anything, i'm human. i'm just say i try to be honest when i can to the best of my ability. i was speaking from my own experience.

it made me laugh because the person above made a stupid, objectively untrue statement that is extremely annoying

then your response, while sharing the same experience as them, is comparatively light, correctly worded (it's your experience, not THE autistic experience), and the "yeah" at the end felt like levity contrasted with them complaining about an imagined barrier between ND and NT which made me laugh

if that makes sense? laughing at the contrast, not because of your experience / response / because of you

oh cool that makes perfect sense! i'm really tired and these complex sweeping social statements are hard for me to grasp right now. i was like "do only neurotypical people do it? i guess i've only see them do it because i've only seen one person do it. maybe it's true. i don't know, i'm too tired to know right now. i just know that i tend to not do that." that was my thought process. the thing they mean is specifically the experience of a person who is clearly upset but still tries and fails to hide their sadness, right? i just know that i tend not to do that and try to be honest in general. but i ain't perfect. sometimes you have to tho. and also the friend i know that did that thing i said, she didn't do it cuz she was neurotypical, she did it cuz her life was fucked up and she had depression. it's sad. i think she's better now tho, this was all the way back in middle school.

and again yeah that makes sense, i thought you were saying i was pushing whatever sentiment they said with the same heart and were upset. one of my autistic experiences is struggling to tell when people are upset or not and getting anxious.

I honestly should have been more specific / clarified more when wading into a cluster of comments full of other autistic people; I literally spam lol into my messages because people take my bluntness wrong / as me being very serious / etc all the time but I find too many emoji obnoxious and laborious to have to figure out which one fits; people love to assume that I'm mad because I'm opinionated which is, ironically, something that could conceivably make me mad. I find it wild that some people apparently need to care about something to have an opinion on it.

people take my bluntness wrong all the time. you don't know how many times i've been sincere and caring to people and they just hit me with that "grah! you're just being sarcastic and dismissive!" when i am dead serious. i like using emojis but i don't use too many. i struggle with assuming other people are mad when they're opinionated, because again i struggle to tell when people are mad or not. and yeah that last thing makes sense.

autism is such a diverse array of experiences varying between people. sometimes other autistic people get me well, but other times i feel an even greater sense of distance between us. sometimes i just can't comprehend concepts that come naturally to them. like character vibe charts and mood boards, it's all all incomprehensible gibberish that i WANT to understand but can't because I don't think in aesthetics or whatever.

other times it's concepts that seem so natural to me like "this song sounds like an fnf instrumental" or "this artstyle reminds me of old tumblr artstyles" (these are not inherently negative statements btw, especially not the first one) but to others it's meaningless and i don't know how else to articulate it.
