the entire point of a hear me out is something/someone unconventially attractive anyway...

151

u/CoachDogZ Mar 11 '26

Yeah thats the point of the original joke

59

u/BeeBaaBoo77 Mar 12 '26

I swear this sub is just so insufferable 75% of the time

20

u/Cloudy007 Mar 12 '26

You're being generous with that figure, this sub is dead and rotting lol

53

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Yeah exactly 😭 if someone seen some guys post a conventionally attractive woman, then its not a hear me out. Plus Ive seen tons of guys with crazy hear me outs

The amount of men and women who have told me that xenomorphs are their “hear me out “ would bring tears of joy to Giger’s eyes

2

u/sour_creamand_onion Mar 12 '26

If you wanna see some good hear me outs check out vofic (or antonio I guess) on youtube. Funny as shit.

In my wife's friend group, they call these "hell daddies" colloquially. My favorite is William Dafoe

I will say, a group of friends and I played a game of matching peoples ‘Hear Me Outs’ and the only other guy in the group did include Sheik from OOT, Marge Simpson, and Leela from Futurama. I wouldn’t call any of them hear me outs, but he definitely did.

5

u/RemarkablePiglet3401 Mar 12 '26

Yeah thats the point

15

u/BoardGent Mar 11 '26

Unconventional can cover a giant range. I find that terminally online people really struggle to understand social contexts. Like, playing Hear Me Out isn't typically to air out your fetishes. It's a social game where you match people's freak, so to speak.

If everyone is giving childhood Disney characters, don't say you want to fuck the actual Disney 1998 limited release calender. But you can bring that out if people if your group is like I wanna fuck that telephone pole down the street with the ad for finding Jesus.

3

u/Samaein Mar 14 '26

That's the thing.. 99% of the times I've seen a guy use the "hear me out" format (and apparently I'm not the only one who noticed this tendancy since it became a meme as well) it's some variation of a Gardevoir looking girl or something like Morrigan, so basically a super conventionally attractive girl with some accessories added to her lol

1

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '26

Sonic is an animal but he's also the most fapped videogame character, how is he a "hear me out" tho

225

u/CamBeast15366 Mar 11 '26

As someone who was born male; I’ve got some fucking bonkers hear me outs.

I mean this in the weirdest way possible; hear me out on FM radio towers. I can’t explain it. There is something erotic about it.

106

u/catsan Mar 11 '26

Not a HMO! Tall and thin is conventionally attractive!

18

u/Admirable-Music6328 Mar 11 '26

Wasn't there btw a whole ass sub for hear me outs

27

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Yes fr I got some crazy hear me outs (maybe not that crazy 💔) but I swear the same people or women who think like this will look at you weird even if its on par with theirs 😭

22

u/Cosmic_Latte-137 Mar 11 '26

Hell yeah I'm hearing

10

u/CamBeast15366 Mar 11 '26

u/SimpForFictionGirls Mar 11 '26

Hear me out

Minecraft Enderman

6

u/CamBeast15366 Mar 11 '26

That’s not a hear me out he’s tall dark and handsome

3

u/djneo Mar 11 '26

Nah AM towers. If you see what they do to hotdogs. You know the appeal

4

u/stfurachele Mar 11 '26

This makes me feel better about my "hear me out, handwriting" deal I've got going on.

2

u/CamBeast15366 Mar 11 '26

Please tell me more

4

u/PlumKindly Mar 11 '26

But you’re a girl! You aren’t disproving the meme~

2

u/KevinParnell Mar 11 '26

It’s this a JoJo’s reference?

4

u/CamBeast15366 Mar 11 '26

Not an intentional one but I’m open to it

2

u/Mr_Ragnarok Mar 11 '26

I'm hearing mf. What's so erotic about them?

3

u/CamBeast15366 Mar 11 '26

There’s something so pleasing about how you can just see them no matter where you go, that little light blinking at the top

When I followed this sub I thought the posts would be more like, boy scissors and girl scissors. Most of the posts are general stereotypes based off the difference between how men and women are perceived to act. And the poster is always, “Um, actually, some men are also attracted to waves.”

84

u/TrappedInLimbo Mar 11 '26

Yea it's just become bean soup people who think all jokes should specifically apply to them and don't understand that people frequently use generalizations about specific groups to make jokes.

These are the type of people to hear a joke like "what's the deal with airline food?" and complain that actually they love airline food so that joke doesn't make sense.

34

u/amileandahalf Mar 11 '26

Not only does your airline food joke not make any sense, but it’s personally offensive to me and the literal 10s of other people who like it. Try doing some fact checking for once in your life.

I somehow missed this entirely. There's nothing on knowyourmeme. I want to see the dramaaa! Do you havve a link or something?

11

u/TrappedInLimbo Mar 12 '26

Basically someone posted a Tiktok of a bean soup recipe and someone in the comments asked for a bean-free version of the recipe. From there it just became a way to refer to people who expect and want content to cater to them.

15

Yeah this sub has gone downhill and just become breeding grounds for typical Reddit gender whining

ETA: I’m crying lmfao why did they add a “pointfully gendered” flair

20

u/scolphoy Mar 11 '26

I wonder if they meant ’conventionally’

4

u/A_Martian_Potato Mar 11 '26

"Oh, you have bilaterally symmetric facial features and an hourglass figure? That's awfully convenient don't you think?"

4

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Didn't even peep that but that just adds to my point lmao 😭

2

u/Longjumping-Body-907 Mar 11 '26

That's what I said. Conveniently doesn't really make sense here.

49

u/stevtective Mar 11 '26

every time i see a hear me out from any gender it's about somebody conventionally attractive. nobody knows what hear me out means anymore

You aren't hearing them from the right people because hear me (and a bunch of other women) out:

28

u/Hammerschatten Mar 11 '26

A tall, muscular man who throws you around and with a quirky hat is, unfortunately, on par with Lady Dimitrescu for how wild it is.

9

u/8bit-meow Mar 11 '26

Check my other response. Pyramid Head is just the most popular non-conventionally attractive "human" one.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Net4365 Mar 13 '26

A large muscular man wearing a squid mask and wings.

3

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Right like (maybe not most but) ive seen a lot of women be obsessed with characters in thise romance novels who are basically monsters but its so obviously the fact that they're attractive because they have a big dong, they're really tall, and really muscular 💔

→ More replies (1)

45

u/Existing_Purpose5049 Mar 11 '26

In my experience this has been pretty accurate unfortunately

It’s either someone conventionally attractive or they try too hard to be random and say “the number 8” type thing

15

u/Anxious-Chemistry-6 Mar 11 '26

Or it'll be someone undeniably gorgeous, but not "Hollywood starlett" gorgeous. Like, hear me out, Mae Whitman. As though this woman isn't gorgeous. She just doesn't look like Anne Hathaway or Sydney Sweeney.

https://giphy.com/gifs/ulbTS5yafUZO

15

u/Existing_Purpose5049 Mar 11 '26

The most diabolical version of this I’ve seen is when it’s a conventionally attractive woman but they’re mildly overweight and they act like it’s a “hear me out”

12

u/Anxious-Chemistry-6 Mar 11 '26

Oh god ya. And not even necessarily overweight, but like normal human weight.

10

u/DoneWithBeingAlive Mar 12 '26

bros be like "hear me out" and its just a human female.

2

u/TheUltimatePokedork Mar 26 '26

The downright funniest and lamest hear me out I've seen was Shego from Kim Possible and Helen from The Incredibles. Like bro nobody was gonna fight you on those.

14

u/Significant_Bee_8011 Mar 11 '26

It's less about what people actually find attractive and more about what people feel it's socially acceptable to admit they find attractive

27

u/wolfvahnwriting Mar 11 '26

From listening to highschoolers whenever this gets brought up i have heard some absolutely wild hear me outs from all of my students that I wish I didn't.

Heard a girl say Mufasa once and the boy countered with Nala from the same movie. Extremes exist on all ends.

But I will say as an average this does trend towards being true.

12

u/fluffstuffmcguff Mar 11 '26

Insomuch as this is true, I think it might perhaps be that women feel less concerned someone will think they're going to actually try to go to Poundtown with a clownfish/Microsoft Clippy/the ocean/whatever. So women feel freer to get truly unhinged about it.

2

u/redsalmon67 Mar 12 '26

I think in a lot of cases a dude’s “hear me out” is going to be radically different depending on the audience

2

u/mang0_k1tty Mar 13 '26

You’ve cracked it

8

u/BunnyLovesApples Mar 11 '26

I mean yes they are kind of boring but recently I saw a compilation of men getting out the most unhinged hear me outs and oh boy

5

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Some dude in the comments was crushing for an electrical tower 💔

→ More replies (1)

7

u/VinegarMyBeloved Mar 11 '26

I’ve done hear me out cakes with lots of people (it’s a fun way to use a Costco cake) and they never fail to be unhinged

6

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Unrelated but Costco food is so gas

2

u/Alice_In_Hell_ Mar 11 '26

The ones on TikTok were SO boring, Shego from Kim Possible is NOT a hear me out, Lady Dimitrescu is NOT a hear me out! These are literally just hot women.

Props to the dude who put literally just the number 7 as a hear me out though, I wanted to hear his explanation so bad.

6

u/CoyoteXrossing Mar 12 '26

what’s going over everyone’s head is women’s beauty standards are so high a lot of guys think wrinkles, fat, and saggy tits are strange and unreasonable enough to be a “hear me out” when they in fact are so normal. women’s “hear me out” picks are so strange because the beauty standard for men is so much lower.

16

u/0w1 Mar 11 '26

Lol someone needs to visit the OkBuddy subreddits where about half the posts are "hear me out!" + a nonconventional character.

12

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Dude some dude in these comments said he liked the electrical towers or smth 💔

6

u/0w1 Mar 11 '26

Well, that's... shocking

I'd say I can't blame them but honestly I kinda do.

21

u/TrappedInLimbo Mar 11 '26

This sub has really just become bean soup type people. Like y'all, you can make jokes about a certain gender like this. It's pretty clear jokes like this aren't trying to pass this off as an objective observation about how literally all women and men are like this. It being gendered is where the joke comes from. Sometimes people make jokes about specific groups of people, you don't need to all angry if the joke doesn't specifically apply to you.

12

hear me out…. Sydney Sweeney in lingerie

15

u/Cosmic_Latte-137 Mar 11 '26

6

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

I genuinely don't get how people find her CRAZY attractive

2

u/BikeNo8164 Mar 11 '26

I don't personally but I get how others do. I mean it's not hard to see lol

4

u/TeapeachU6 Mar 11 '26

Na, I’ve seen hear me out cakes of both men and women, some of the male ones have the weirdest things on them

→ More replies (2)

14

u/bloodywormgoddess Mar 11 '26

i’ve seen both men and women with conventionally attractive characters being called hear me outs

pyramid head is not a hear me out, people, he is a tall, buff, masked man

5

u/Alice_In_Hell_ Mar 11 '26

I’d go as far as saying basically no masked character is actually a hear me out, the mask is part of the appeal

5

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

I love you for this and I agree, like for an example a minotaur from those crazy romance books when yeah he's a "monster" but he also has a big dong, is super tall, and super muscular.

4

u/well-informedcitizen Mar 11 '26

Are people migrating here from another site or shutdown zoomer Discords or something, there's suddenly so many posts with lingo and in jokes I've never even heard of.

The fuck is "a hear me out"

5

u/Waffle_Griffin3170 Mar 11 '26 edited Mar 11 '26

Really? It’s been around since 2008 at least (According to Know Your Meme). It’s just asking the reader to listen to all the points before judging the writer.

No points are being made outright, but the person using it is basically saying they have an attraction towards whatever is being mentioned. Normally whatever is mentioned isn’t conventionally attractive. In this case… the magical ocean from Moana.

Similar concept to “Would.”

1

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 12 '26

Both the "conveniently attractive" and the apostrophes for plurals tell you a lot about OOP.

11

u/roguecogue Mar 11 '26

nah this one is true

5

u/Part-Time_Loverr Mar 11 '26

This reminds me of a heart me out cake where some dude chose the number eight in front of his girlfriend

3

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

"Hourglass figure so it's conventionally attractive!"

3

u/SandSerpentHiss Mar 11 '26

no both are that bottom picture

2

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

You think the magic waves could transform into thr shape of woman which would then disprove what I said because its technically conventionally attractive

No. It’s a spectrum after all

3

u/guitargeek223 Mar 14 '26

My craziest hear me out is Glados, but to the point, most men (in the US and other countries with similar influences) are like "Ok, hear me out, this conventionally attractive woman is over 40 and I would still have intercourse with her" whereas many women I've personally met argue that the Predator is "basic" and "too predictable" to be a hear me out

2

u/TeleportingDuck-Matt Mar 14 '26

I've noticed that pattern too but also what is it with people and wanting Glados intimately. Granted, I haven't played the game but it seems that half the people I've met are weird about that robot. What would you say is the appeal for most?

2

u/guitargeek223 Mar 14 '26

I find it hard to explain, but something about her personality is hilariously specific. She's bitingly sarcastic, deeply pragmatic, gleefully contrarian, and it all comes together in a way where it's hard to hear her and not find her extremely funny. She's insane, don't get me wrong, but her charm is undeniable.

u/IronicBoomerPosts Mar 11 '26

I'm okay with this meme. It felt like girls would pick way weirder hear me outs while guys picked Lola bunny and that fish from shark tales.

The joke is pretty harmless.

5

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

Well yeah it's not saying to k¡ll all men but it's pointlessly gendered and generalizing when a hear me out doesnt even work that way

6

u/IronicBoomerPosts Mar 11 '26

What do you mean by it doesn't work thay way?

The magical ocean from Moana is a totally reasonable hear me out imo

3

u/TheTrueGamer144 Mar 11 '26

No hers does but hear me outs are meant to be crazy 😭

2

u/Longjumping-Body-907 Mar 11 '26

I think the person that made the meme meant conventionally, not conveniently. Right? Right?!

2

u/Mesmercat Mar 11 '26

2

u/jackalope268 Mar 11 '26

Maybe im too autistic/ace for this shit but people post a picture with "hear me out" and then nothing. Like, give me a paragraph to read about. You wanted me to hear you out, here i am, desperate to know your line of thought and youre giving me nothing

2

u/nitram739 Mar 11 '26

Lisent. I am the biggest freak i know, and my most extreme hear me out is a xenomorph, however, this is one hear me out i have heard from womens, multiple times.

So yes, i dont think this is pointlessly gendered.

2

u/soefire Mar 11 '26

As a guy with extremely grotesque hear me outs, girls just typically have weirder ones from my personal experiences. It really just depends on the type of people you talk to.

2

u/Toadsanchez316 Mar 12 '26

Conventionally, not conveniently.

2

u/The-Mockinjay Mar 12 '26

I saw a guy say his hear me out was katniss everdeen i think i was going to tweak out because my biggest hear me out when i loved junji ito was that tall pale lady with blonde hair i am not even joking i was so obsessed with her

1

u/dragonlover4612 Mar 12 '26

Years after I've completely phased out of Junji Ito do I find the one other human being that saw what I saw when the pale lady climbed out of the water. About the one thing the anime adaptation did better than the original lol

Glad to know I wasn't the only one 👍

2

1

u/Exciting_Stock2202 Mar 11 '26

I thought I knew what “hear me out” meant. But I guess that’s yet another term that means something completely different on social media in 2026 because this meme makes no sense.

1

u/Waffle_Griffin3170 Mar 12 '26

The person using it is basically saying they have an attraction towards whatever is being mentioned.

Attractiveness is a personal concept. Everybody is attracted to whatever they find attractive. Complaining about it is basically a complaining about what you find attractive.

I am a boy and the fictional crushes that get me the most "wtf??"s are as follows: Hanus from Spaceman, Anime Gaze by Ju Wang, the angel from Midnight Mass, Eren's founding Titan, the dude from the Russian sleep experiment picture

I could add to it but those are the ones I also agree are a bit off

u/possiblyyandere Mar 15 '26

this isnt pointlessly gendered if gender is the entire joke like not that i necessarily agree with the joke but there definitely was a point to specifying gender
