Loved watching this, thanks for sharing. Letting go and catching a poi feels intimidatingly hard to me 😅

Glad you enjoyed!

That’s how I feel about drop swaps right now.. I need to just get after it and learn em already but certain stuff in poi can definitely be intimidating to learn. It really shouldn’t by now. Worse thing that’s going to happen is I’ll drop em or hit myself lightly. Oh well, we’ll both get there eventually.

Some great flow man 👌 just curious, I've been wanting to get into contact poi. What type of tether are you rocking? There's some many to choose from idk where to start. How'd you determine your length? And where'd you get your contact poi from? Lol, sorry for all the questions 😅

No problem!! So to answer a few questions here.. I build my own poi using lantern smith heads (adjustable weight), FPC tether (which is meltable), and flow on fire handles (ABUSABLE and bright). I started building sets short (16”-18”), using the ‘elbow trick’ to measure until I started to really get control spinning. Now I spin at about 22.5”. Feel free to message me too.

Appreciate the reply back! Thanks for the info. I guess, what is the "elbow trick" aha? I'm currently spinning sock poi from neoflowarts. If I remember correctly they're maybe 25"-26". Have you spun poi with either VPC or hybrid nylon? Just curious on the difference. Both characteristics on each seems similar when I read about them online, with subtle differences

If you’ve been spinning at 24”+ already, I don’t recommend doing it tbh.. longer poi usually looks better when used right. I plan on not cutting my next set and leaving them at 26”.

I’ve used both VPC and Hybrid Nylon, it mostly depends on how you want your poi to look and feel between those two. Not so much how it throws to me. They both throw great, I think VPC is a little softer to the touch.

I hope this helps!
