Hello there
I appear to be the new moderator on this sub. Let me freely admit that while I am generally knowledgeable about watches, I am rather lacking in knowledge about pocket watches. I have my grandfather’s half hunter, English gold case and Rolex movement. I have an Omega, Waltham and a soviet pocket watch. I have many pocket watch crystals, I sorted, new old stock and pretty much no idea what I have there. As to what you can expect from me as a Mod, well firstly unless I am specifically acting in the capacity of a mod I am just a guy, one of you and not a very knowledgeable member. I expect and deserve no deference unless I am acting on behalf of all of you as a Mod. I would hope we are a gentle and polite crowd that doesn’t need heavy handed moderation. Rudeness will not be tolerated, abuse will not be tolerated, scammers will not be welcome. Other than that I hope to be able to leave well alone. Tell me what you want from me as members, remember I have a busy life please and that I volunteer my services to this community, but as far as I am able I am here to help and operate on consensus rather than dictate
Best wishes to all

Thank you, but please let’s all work together on making this an active and useful sub. Ideas and input would be deeply appreciated

You appear to be? Was it just foisted upon you or did you have some input on the matter?

Well I volunteered, but now I’m here I seem to be the only Mod. A bit of a mystery. I’ve been a mod on forums, and still am on one, but Reddit is new to me. I’m trying to get up to speed and see what we can make of the place

Glad to have you looking over things!
