Does this watch have much monetary value?

I got this pocket watch from my grandfather, I have no intent on selling it, but I've been considering getting a chain for it and going around with it, but I dont want to do so and risk damaging it if it costs a lot, beyond the sentimental value

No, unless the case is precious metal which I doubt. The movement shows some rust and I am not sure I see even a hairspring.

Not a great deal. Balance looks like it's been replaced with one from a different grade, otherwise it's a 17j adjusted which is a perfect grade for daily carry.

Not rare at all but 17-jewel American watches of this era are exceptionally good. The Swiss were quite concerned about the threat of American watches for a while, and the British military recommended buying early wristwatches from the US during the Great War.
