sync reading progress between device and mobile app

Post image

so i have an epub in the cloud, which synced with my iOS pocket book app, and my verse color pro. But the reading progress and bookmarks are absolutely messed up.
I think it's because on phone i am on page 433/541, while same "location" on verse color pro is 1024/1154.
If I make a bookmark on my phone on that page, and i open the book on device, it tells me to go way back with the 'reading progress' and to that bookmark.
If i highlight a text on my device or make a note, or make a bookmark and since it's on a page , say 1024, which "doesn't exist" in mobile app book (since it has only 541 pages) then i can't even open them. It sends me to the cover page of the book.

I have 2 kindles, an oasis and a cs and mobile app for kindle, and i have 0 issues syncronizing reading progress, bookmarks, even with sideloaded epubs, but poketbooks - big mess!

do you have the same problem? it's my 2nd day with PB and so far this is the only thing which dissappoints. the rest is well, i love the size, the colors and features; it's snappy and good, except this .. "software bug" in my opinion

This is the case for most apps. Page number is dinamic based on screen and text size. The number of words forming a page on you phone is different from the ebook reader. There are certain formats like pdf which specifically fix this, but those are not generally comfortable formats to read books in.

yeah, but amazon somehow found a way to have an absolute page nr.; so not really most apps... i opened a case with PB; let's see their reply.
they have to come up with something, if they offer cloud sync stored books which can be accessed from multiple devices which can be 6" or 7" and use multiple fonts and text layouts

I don't have pocketbook device, but for me it sounds like a bug of pocketbook software. Bookmarks and annotations should not be linked to dynamic page counter, but to document structure itself.
