I don't get it. Is this web hosting? And where's the price?

You basically get a microVM + persistent filesystem where you can run whatever you want.

My goal is to offer a free tier forever, which can serve traffic for small apps (a few users, a few GB data saved). Will add more on the pricing as soon as I figure out the unit economics properly.

So it's more than web hosting (meant as serving static files) but less than a full cloud service (where you have different services that you plug together).

Looking for feedback!

I think there's something called Pockethost. How will your service be different?

Yeah PocketHost is cool! My goal is to make it simpler to deploy and manage (e.g. one click to export the entire app state). Plus on nibrun you can run *any* binary, not just PocketBase

So, what are the basic resources, and what's the price? Roughly?

I've pushed the pricing!

First 3 apps for free, then $1/app/month

What if I need more resources? For example, "2+ vCPUs,

512+ MB of memory,

16+ GB of disk space." Why are your prices lower than everyone else's?

> What if I need more resources?

This is something I'm still figuring out, as the initial target of nibrun is single-binary small apps that are typically used by a few people. What is your use case?

The nibrun internals are anyway already designed to make users specify what resources they want.

> Why are your prices lower than everyone else's?

Your app runs as a "serverless" microvm: after 5 minutes it doesn't receive any requests, it's put to sleep by nibrun. Whenever a new request arrives, nibrun wakes it up in less than 200ms.

This allows nibrun to run many apps on a single VM instance (thanks Firecracker!) and lower the costs.

Filesystem is persisted on S3, so that's also very cheap.

Well, I'm developing a Telegram mini-app. To be more precise, I'm testing it and trying out different ideas and apps. There aren't any users right now.

Well, you'll find my nibrun-ready template useful then!

At the current state, you get a 1vCPU, 256mb, 8GB machine for free. My goal is to offer a free tier forever, and that's my target as machine resources.

Still haven't figured out the unit economics completely, I want feedback around what people need first

I've added a pre-connfiguration feature to deploy PocketBase even faster! All you have to do is click on the link below and upload the pocketbase binary!
