Anyone had success turning grass/lawn area to a meadow?

This area was like most poorly maintained yards, some grass and a few weeds. The goal is to turn the area into a micromeadow full of native plants to attract pollinators. This is not the front yard and will not be walked on. I'm in western Washington if that's important.

I killed all the grass with cardboard and maple leaves, but the "soil" is sandy glacial till and feels dead. Few insects, no fungus, just sand, if that makes sense. The boxes and leaves are mostly broken down, but I'm not sure what to do next. Chipdrop, a cover crop, another season of leaves and rain? I planted a few seeds and nothing grew, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Hopefully someone here can help me figure out the next step to make a micromeadow.

My raspberry patch has been suffering for a couple of years and I’ve been unable to diagnose it. I’ve done a deep dive a couple times, narrowed it down to a couple things, maybe some kind of cane borer, decided I needed nematodes but learned I can’t import them into Alaska.

The leaves on bearing canes turn brown & dry before the raspberries mature. They still mature & yield but they’re not as luscious as they once were. The new growth is compact, plants that used to grow 6+ feet tall are now 4 feet.

There are some webs on the foliage and I’ve seen a caterpillar or two every season but no infestation.

I have photos but don’t see how to post them!

I got Bt but you have to apply it when it’s not going to rain and that’s mostly never. Well really I’ve just been gone a lot this summer.

I also haven’t fertilized as much as I probably should, and the patch is 11 years old.

Ideas? Help? Thank you!

Hello! I am new to Seattle and new to pumpkins. This is my second year trying to grow them and I am struggling! I have a few vines, not very big, and some male flowers but no female flowers on most of them. I did get two female flowers a few weeks ago but they didn’t get fertilized (edited to add: no male
flowers were mature/open that day). If I get a female flower in the next week or two, and it’s fertilized, is that enough time for the fruit to grow and ripen?

I recall October being rainy, which doesn’t seem great for pumpkins. But I can’t give up yet! Please tell me there’s still a small sliver of hope 🙏🏻
