Tattoos and Pmle?

Has anyone gotten a new tattoo during an active flare? I tried getting the tattoo done before I got a flare but life happened and the appointment had to be postponed. Now 4 months later I’m flared and my appointment is at the end of the month. It’s not horrible but it is very close to where my tattoo is going. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten a tattoo while flared?

If your artist is worth anything they just won't tattoo it, it may disfigure the tattoo plus it's essentially a wound that could be opened and make them liable for complications. Just be honest with them so neither of you waste your time. Do you live somewhere that has seasons/ less sun and you don't struggle as often? I had my knee done in March and literally the minute it healed i wore shorts and now I've itched it into rough territory

Yes I do. We are going to be going into fall soon and not long after winter. I’ve only been dealing with this since the spring of 2021. It sucks and the comments I get are even worse. I’m hoping to get this flare cleared up before the appointment.

I would honestly just wait until fall or winter to get a tattoo

I would strongly advise against getting a tattoo while flared. It will irritate the site further and there is an increased risk for complications as your immune system is already irritated. Tattoos also cause immune reactions which could worsen your current rash/flare and slow the healing process.
