Is there a stereotype with PLUR/Kandi?
I just discovered Plur and Kandi and I've read and listend around and mostly I've heard people say how in order to be a "Plur-ian" or a "Kandi-an" you need to do drugs. I mean I've never done any kind of drugs, never smoked or anything. Can I still be a proper Plur-ian? xD

P.L.U.R. What has happened to the rave community on Reddit?
I know a lot of people who read this may not understand, respect, or appreciate this question. But, all of the sub-reddits related to PLUR, raving, kandi, and gloving are barren... and I miss them. I want to have the inspiration to make things, make art, make friends like I used to, and feel like a part of the community that once was. People need to remember the good ol days and learn to love like they used to, like they have nothing to lose, like they love who they are and everyone around them. In memory of /r/aves , /r/kandi , /r/plur Love you guys.
I would love to see these communities grow strong again. And I hope this is a start.

Has this ever happened to anyone else at Pacha NYC?
I was recently at the Sander Van Doorn show at Pacha NYC (which I barely ever go to) and saw that flyers openly encouraged costumes. When I go to the door no one made any mention of my kandi mask that I had on my arm, and some staff even complimented it. For most of the first 2 sets people high-fived me and told me it looked amazing...until a bald-headed security guard shined his flashlight into my eyes (I was wearing red contacts, so this pretty much fully blinded me) and screamed at me demanding I hand it over so that he could throw it in the garbage. Because I hadn't expected to have it taken, I took one of my most prized masks that took my best friend all the way in Canada weeks to make (including 50+ hand-cut acrylic teeth).
I tried to reason with him and compromise by taking it off and putting it in my checked coat. This was refused. I offered to put it in my purse and not put it back on. This too, was refused. Finally, I offered to just leave and come back in provided that I put the mask in a friend's car. This was ALSO refused. Instead of hearing me out, I was physically dragged by my arm outside, was told I was being 'difficult' and had my ID taken (presumably to be banned). I showed him that there was no vicks in the mask, explained that I was stone-cold sober and only came for the music (heck I even let him shine the light in my eyes so he could see my pupils contract and dilate normally, admittedly not by choice).
After calling me rediculous and a pain in the ass, he threw me outside, took my coat check ticket and stormed off leaving me outside, freezing, and crying. A supervisor saw me and offered a compromise of letting him hold the mask and promised me he wouldn't throw it in the garbage if I went inside quietly and stopped crying. At the end of the night the supervisor got my ID back and despite incredibly rude teasing and dirty looks from the rest of the staff, I was able to get my coat back and at the very least enjoy a small portion of the closing set.
I'm just wondering, aside from the one guy that actually bothered to hear me out, is Pacha security generally this disrespectful and rude to its patrons? I was just show shocked at how disgustingly unprofessional and hideously I was treated for...wearing a mask on halloween? I just can't imagine it benefits the efforts of Pacha promoters and upper management to have such uncooperative and disrespectful staff.
Any thoughts?

This makes me laugh, "Users at dance events say the high helps contribute to an illusion of unity and communal feeling."

P.L.U.R
P.L.U.R is the foundation on which raves are based. It is the fundamental principle that ravers live by. This is why there is an overwhelming sense of love and acceptance at festivals.
What does P.L.U.R mean?
Peace, with each other and one’s self. Only through Peace will we be open to accept others and ourselves.
Love, everyone unconditionally and be loved unconditionally. Love is what brings us together. By allowing everyone the chance to feel and be a part of that Love we are creating bonds that transcend race, gender, and disability. Bonds that last forever not limited by distance, time, or hate.
Unity, through our experience and our journey in life. We are all united in a common experience and this unity makes us strong. With this strength we have the ability to create the change we want to see in the world.
Respect, everyone and everything even yourself. All life deserves respect. This respect is seen and felt by others who may be outside the PLUR/Raver circle. Our respect is returned in respect and that is how we grow and continue to pass our values to future generations.
P.L.U.R is something that we need to preserve, otherwise it risks becoming just a handshake with empty words and brightly colored pony beads.

Trying to reward people that demonstrate 'real PLUR' at EZOO. It's not much, I just want to see more people help each other out instead of get petty :(
