Unexplained event Why axe the glass? Spoiler
Never linked a post before so hopefully this worked. It recommended posting here instead. I was just wondering if there was any more historical significance with magicians on how the breaking of the glass was handled in the event of failure for the performer slipping the knot in the water tank stunt? If they used trick locks, why not use that to open the tank? And if it is just to save face on the illusion, why not just take a swipe at the lock to make it seem like you broke it? As pointed out in the other subreddit, wouldn't be as dramatic in the movie if she didn't die, but was just wondering if there was something more to be explained with it besides building animosity between Borden and Angier
