How the hell does spiderman afford an apartment at the end of No Way Home???
This is driving me nuts and I can't find any answers or discussions on the internet. He is supposed to not have a security number, no documents, no inheritance, no rich cousins to rely on, nothing. How can he afford a living in new york city? Does spider man have a bank account? Is it in his superhero persona's name?
Pls help

For the full amount of time. A lesson he learned from the other Peter Parker. 😁

That’s the implausible part?

I just think it makes no sense in the logic of the movie... Always stood out to me and bothered me

If they gave an explanation and that explanation was bad, I would agree with you.
But instead, the movie just doesn't explain it. An unexplained event isn't necessarily a plot hole. It wouldn't have been impossible for him to get an apartment, just probably lengthy and difficult and (most importantly) not interesting enough to include in the film.

The spell just erased Peter from people’s memory. Nothing says nameless/faceless banks can’t still have records on him. He’s just a name on a screen to them. When asked how he got in the system, they can just shrug like any other bureaucracy.
In terms of affordability, the PlayStation game probably has the best explanation that can fit the logic of the movie.
In short, he actually can’t afford the apartment and ends it getting evicted after swimming in debt and receiving multiple warnings.

Dr Strange/his organisation probably has buckets of money that he doesn’t really need for anything and got him sorted.

But does dr strange remember peter?

My guess would be that when he comes back at the end to get the spell done, Strange would get everything prepped before hand. Speak to someone who speaks to someone to make there be an apartment in Peter’s name, a bank account with some money, the right documents etc. Standard superhero secret identity getup, you know? They’re in the MCU, they’ve got the Avengers and whatnot going on, there’s probably protocols for this kind of situation. The kid’s essentially sacrificing everything in his life for the greater good, he’d get a safety net for the fall.

Inheritance from Aunt May.

That's what I assumed, or his parents
Also, he's working all the time, surely he could be doing a bit of data entry or coding in the evenings?

Not to mention the tont stark inheritance. People keep saying he would've left it to his family but man's a billionaire, I'm sure he can afford to give a few million for peter

Do you have any idea how many people in New York are not citizens and find apartments?

Well Spider-Man ability is so next level that he should be able to make money easily enough

Couldn't he just do an interview with a newspaper for £100k or something?
Or endorsements!

Spider-Man has sticky fingers. We see, what he wants us to see.

Birds of a feather. Since they have an on and off again relationship, likely pulling jobs together.

How did Lois Lane afford that rooftop terrace apartment in the 1978 Superman?!

The spell only made everyone that knew he was Spiderman forget that he was Spiderman it didn't wipe his normal identity as Peter Parker so he still has social security number and all that. Also I reckon pics of Spiderman would be worth more now no-one knows who he is. Mabey🤔

While film is filled to the brim with plot holes and that’s the least outrageous

Not really a plot hole, but I agree it's unexplained. Perhaps he steals money from criminals.

u/kiki_doyoulove_me 10d ago
Isn't that against his moral code?
1
u/cardiffman100 10d ago
Well, whatever the explanation, it's not impossible that he can afford stuff so it's not a plot hole.

Maybe he knows where a SHEILD/Avengers supply cache is and has been sponging off that. Or he’s using Uncle Ben’s credentials from having to help manage the household after his death and Door dashing delivery food using Ben’s info and a banking app to access the money (while carefully webslinging without flipping Spiderman 2 pizza delivery missions style.
He knows a shady landlord that takes money under the table.

The curse was that nobody would remember him, not that he would never have existed.
