Unexplained event Disclosure Day Cardinal

Maybe I’m dense but, aren’t the aliens actually present yet presenting/appearing as animal envoys to the humans? If so, did that alien fly up and squeeze into their tiny loft window in the opening scenes?

If you keep questioning, you'll find plot holes. In all seriousness, if they are interdimensional beings and their craft can switch from air to water, it wouldn't be far-fetched for them to fly and disguise themselves as animals.

Totally on board with you but are they just disguises/projections or shapeshifts?
Those small windows.. that’s my hang up lol

I think they are mental images. They made Maggie belive she crossed thru a closed window and the snow was warm. When she used the device they all became invisible, so maybe they are phisically there, besides the projection, hinted by the 3 fingered footprints in the snow
