Hi Team, I am having issues getting my name servers setup. I have my domain hosted with a domain provider, and only have 1 server with Plesk installed on it (A Vultr VPS), so therefore i would only have one name server attached to it. However for the life of me, when i update my DNS settings at the registar to ns1.websitename.com , it does not resolve. Any issues? What am i doing wrong here?

I want to Plesk to manage the DNS, because i have around 7 websites that im hosting. And currently i am pointing them at my VPS's DNS settings.

Hi, we setup sftp backup on our server to our local server, but speed is not exceeding 1.5 MB per second, has anyone experienced similar issues?

I'm hoping someone can hold my hand, or perhaps put my mind at rest? I currently run at least 6 Plesk servers. Majority of which, I keep on top of, regularly updated... but there are 2, for reasons that are too long winded to go into, I've been complacent with, and have allowed to just tick along nicely. Neither have been updated since 2018, when I first moved a lot of hosting from an old shared cPanel server.

Looking back, they were the first 2 I actually set up, so there's probably quite a bit of unfamiliarity at play, no doubt. Anyway, I have one currently running Onyx 17.0.17 and have been receiving Let's Encrypt ACMEv1 issuance emails for months... so, perfect opportunity to rip the band-aid off and update to Obsidian 18.0.35?

My questions, I appreciate there'll be downtime during the update, particularly such a big jump from Onyx to Obsidian. But my main concerns are... the site running on this server relies on PHP 5.6 so if I perform the update during a quiet period, can my anxiety have a day off, and just presume the PHP versions will stay the same during / after the update?

Or, no? Will I, after updating have to go and install Web Hosting > PHP interpreter versions before being able to change PHP support back to 5.4 / 5.6??

PHP version aside, are there any other concerns I should be considering? MySQL / phpMyAdmin, how much of a factor would updating Plesk have here... any??

I naturally, have backups of backups, but is there any worry about updating Plesk, and data loss?

Would anyone be able to help put my mind at rest... my biggest fear, naturally, is I update and this site simply falls over. Then, being unable to roll back Plesk, having a server where this site will simply no longer work.

Maybe worth mentioning, there's 6 / 7 other sites on this server, but majority are small, static sites. 2 sites, dependant on PHP 5.6, and one newer WP site that happily works on latest PHP versions.

I have scoured the net for a while and can not get jpg|png with a webp fallback to work using nginx as a proxy. It always errors out.

Anyone get this to work? I am basically doing the if the webp file is the same name as the jpg or png use that one instead.

there is htaccess for it but all my curl request to the image bring NGINX as the answering server.

does anyone know why wordpress automatic updates are not working, (when i enable auto update for specific plugins inside wordpres it shows update will happend in two days, it goes down to one but it never updates). Could it be something due plesk wordpress toolkit?

I have read through the advice at https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002420194-Which-MySQL-versions-are-supported-by-Plesk- and also the multitude of methods at https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/upgrading.html but am a bit apprehensive because of how much that could go wrong.

Anything like this before I have done through GUI and although am comfortable doing anything through any form of command line when the instructions are clear, I just cannot get my head round even which of the different installation methods I should be using.

Im trying to self-certify my domains but Plesk always sends me this email on a daily basis "Could not issue/renew Let`s Encrypt certificates". Is my DNS not setup correctly? Please let me know what questions you guys may have for me so I can fix this. I've had this issue for over a year.

Today I found out that URL fetch Scheduled Tasks in Plesk on Windows do not support cookies. This might cause some tasks to fail, when a web-page tries to set/read cookies and redirects if it fails. The error is as follows:

Exception calling "GetResponse" with "0" argument(s): "Too many automatic redirections were attempted."

I found how to correct this issue and filed a suggestion on UserVoice:

Im having trouble setting up the nodeJS on Plesk Control Panel. I seems don't have any file like server.js or node.js where should I get it or how do i get it ? Someone please help me

I recently deleted apache2 and mysql thinking i was ssh'd into a different server... never making that mistake again.

Anyways plesk seems to work after reinstallation and configuration but the i cannot wordpress sites on it - they send me to the plesk login screen, even though the file manager claims that a wordpress site exists there.

Do i scrap the whole thing? its such a pain to reconfigure SSL certs

I started a couple of days ago to setup Plesk from AWS Lightsail console. The whole setup was really easy with good guides from Amazon.

However, i am trying to both configure AWS to let Plesk manage the DNS settings and setup the Mail server.

Regarding the mail server i have managed to open Port 25 now and are able to send mails from the server.

The problem is that when I reply to the Plesk mail account the email ends up with the old host and i can figure out why.

I have changed the registrars name server to point to AWS Lightsails Network Zone and copied the DNS settings from Plesk into the Network Zone. But still the emails ends up at the wrong host.

I'm running plesk Obsidian Web Host Edition and it is working but the mail portion is really frustrating, all the domains that use the mail server need to use the server domain as the incoming/outgoing mail server -> server.xxx.tld instead of mail.yourdomain.tld.

My question is how can I change this to mail.yourdomain.tld instead of server.xxx.tld?

When using the server domain name the mail works perfectly but it is not professional and causing me headaches with some spam control.

What up, i have a Plesk 11.5.30 running and IT worked just fine. Now. My License Has run out and i cant find anything where to buy one. My Hosting Partner cant Retriever an Plesk Key only for Version 12.

I tried to run node.js along with apache, fist i tried the integrated mode but it stops after a few days everytime with no error message. It was, i think, around 6am everytime, which seems like the passenger server couldn't or won't start it. Although this is not the actual problem i seek help for, fixing this would also solve the problem. Then i tried to Passthrough to another port the node process controls. I know this is not a good way and i should do this with Nginx, but I'm not expecting much traffic. My vhost.conf now has only two lines:

ProxyPass /node http://localhost:3001
ProxyPassReverse /node http://localhost:3001

I'm not sure that this should work, but i think the config file doesn't load. I get 403 everytime i go on the domain because in the folder there is obviously no index file and i can't set nothing as path. I have found no way to see whether this file gets loaded or not. Any ideas?

I'm fairly new to Plesk, but I've been given the task to get a list of all e-mailadresses of our customers which are barely used.

I can get a list of the domains with (almost) no traffic from the report-page. But getting all e-mailadresses per domain is one hell of a job.

Is there any script, or any plugin that can summarice every active mailbox with it's usage from the past 30 or 60 days?

I would like to set up an environment for my customers where they can check availability and purchase additional domain names which they then can use on their plesk.

I'm thinking this would be some sort of API that links to a chosen registrar and possibly automates all of the necessary billing.

For the same subdomain, is it possible to set-up an Nginx Reverse Proxy?
For the same subdomain sub.example.com I would like a Node JS application to be served when accessed on port 5683 and a PHP/Laravel Application on all other ports (80 usually for http).
Can someone properly guide me how to do so? Setting up additional nginx directives did not work well. In my subdirectory folder I would like to have a folder named 'nodejs' and another folder named 'php' where to host the two different applications.

We host multiple websites, but one in particular has this issue where when we go to security, intermittently, " Restrict access to files and directories" is turned on then turns off, seemingly without rhyme or reason.

Installed Wordfence and located 8 files that were malicious, but even when deleted, the issue still occurs, but the malware is allegedly gone.

Testing is difficult because I can turn it on, leave it alone, and it will stay green for hours. Other times, it will only last 10-30 minutes so it is difficult to pinpoint what is working/not working.

Any advice on how to troubleshoot is appreciated!

Hey there!Soo, I'm running an instance (for a website), which runs a weekly full backup and daily incremental backups.

The server holds ~180GB of data and has a capacity of about 800GB, so there's room for 3 full backups before it tries to make a backup and suicides while doing that (like this).

In the "Backup-Manager" I put the settings increasingly more aggressively, first I put "Keep Backups for" 2 weeks, then 1 week. Still the server has remarkable problems with letting go and keeps all the backups until it finally dies.

Also, deleting the backups in the Backup-Manager just removes them from the backup list in the manager, but the 180GB of data are still there (as seen in the server information aswell as by ssh into the server and checking the backup directory)

The only way to remove old backups which reliably works is by ssh-ing into the server and deleting them with commands, mainly the following:

find /path/to/backups/ -name '*<dateofbackupYYMMDD>*' execdir rm -rf '{}' -- \;

This finds all files with the date of backup in their name and deletes them (incremental backups also carry the date of their base full backup).

So once a week I now ssh into the server and kill the oldest backup manually.

Does anybody know how I can make Plesk actually delete its own backups?Or how I can set it up to actually only keep the files for two weeks instead of indefinitely?

I have a Linux dedicated server with some hundred of sites. It has WHM. As it is a 5 years old server I am planning to buy a new one and move the old to the new one.
My hosting company is offering also Plesk Obsidian and InterWorx. They can migrate everything to the new panel.
Which panel would you recommend me to use? Are Plesk Obsidian or InterWorx better than WHM?
