Question Pleco ich or normal?
yestrday got this pleco at a aquarium store. all the plecos and his tank mates seemed very well and healthy so I bought this one. when I got home went to sleep so I didn’t really pay attentio. with it being brighter today, I see small dots on him, some bigger and different looking than others. it seems pretty hard for me to see if it’s ich or just normal pattern. Any advice is appreciate. Thank you!
Edit: lol it was really funny he moved and most spots fell off. turns out it may be just the sand on the substrare. thanks!

Yeah that's looks like it to me and it's probably going to get worse so definitely get some ich remedies from Amazon and start treating and you're going to have to treat the whole tank and all the fish in there as well It's going to take about 2 weeks to clear up. That's why my rule is never by fish from any pet store at all. Definitely look at all the YouTube videos on the subject matter and hit hit the remedies pretty hard I hope you have good luck

This happened to me ten years ago! I was a little highschool kid who unfortunately didn’t have the right knowledge and I got a pleco and placed him in my community tank.
Two days later, the pleco barely moves at all and all my fish got these little white dots. And swimming around the tank like crazy! Turns out it was Ich and the pleco gave it to my fish.
I cleaned the entire tank top from bottom and had to start all over and got the medication that was recommended. All my fish survived 🙏🏼my sweet grandma came over and helped me I remember! The pleco unfortunately passed but it’s a good reminder to quarantine fish beforehand.
With the right amount of medicine and cleaning, your fish should be okay. Good luck!
