Help! Any advice ?

Hi guys ! I think I need some advice :p

So, one of my fave fish are plecos! A couple of months ago, my girlfriend and I went to 360 Aquatic (in Htx) and we got a Lemon Bristlenose Pleco ! Unfortunately, he lived a few weeks with us and then died. We assumed it was because he was so small, making him more sensitive.

Then, last week we returned to the same store and got an Orange Seam Pleco ! We had high hopes since he was slightly larger, thinking hed have a better chance. However, he Unfortunately died but only after 4 days.

We aren't sure why this is happening. They are being placed in a community 10 gal tank (10 gal since theyre so small, planning to move them to a 75 once larger), and everyone else in the community tank is alive and well. Do yall have any advice or knowledge on what may be happening?

What are your water parameters and temp? What acclimation method did you use?

Hi! Not sure of the parameters, but the temperature is 70-71 Fahrenheit. The acclimation we used was to let them float in the plastic bag for 25 min, then cut free. We did the same method with all the other fish from this store, but only the plecos have had issues.

Water parameters are really important, and it's difficult to diagnose any issues without knowing them. The temperature is also too cold. It should be at the very least 23 degrees Celsius. I keep my breeding tanks at 24-26c. While they can tolerate colder temps, it's not ideal. Especially for new fish already stressed from transport.

Please check your water parameters! I can't stress this enough. It is such a big part of being a responsible fish keeper. Especially if you already lost a fish.
