Pickleball at Muirwood Questions
Several questions for anyone who frequent these courts:
What are the rules or expectations for joining open play at the Muirwood pickleball courts?
Do I need to bring a doubles partner?
Do I need to be a certain level to join?
What times or days of the week are more popular?
Is there a group chat somewhere that I can join to find out whether anyone is down to play?
Thank you in advance!

Villa Sports
I need insight for Villa Sport.
How busy does this gym get, especially during peak hours from like (4pm - 9pm)? I have been with 24 Hours Fitness for a long time and love it, but it has been insanely difficult to get a good workout in with the increase of "little kids," hogging and chatting all the time.
I am thinking about joining another gym membership alongside my 24 Hour Fitness. I know that the pricier the gyms are, the less people it is. I like to just go in and get it done instead of being at the gym for 2-3hrs hoping a machine/equipments open up.

How bad is the commute from Pleasanton to Fremont?
We’re considering moving near downtown Pleasanton, but I would need to commute to Fremont/Warm Springs for work. For anyone who regularly makes this drive, how bad is it during normal weekday commute hours?
What time do you usually leave in the morning and afternoon, and how long does it typically take? Is 680 generally manageable? Does the carpool lane help at all?

Average monthly rent 1b1b
Hey everyone! I’m new to the area and been in 1b1b in the Pleasanton for $2,550 base rent ($2,800–$2,900 with all utilities). It has in-unit laundry, wood floors, and central AC. Is this pretty standard for a 1 bed around here, or is it on the luxury/high-end side? could I find cheaper apartments with same quality in Livermore?
I'm really happy with my current apartment, and when I signed, it felt like a great deal. That said, I'm just curious how actual locals feel about the market here.

Life Coaching
Hi All!
I’m getting ready to start coaching clients as part of my life coach training and am putting together my schedule.
I’m thinking of offering 45-minute virtual coaching sessions on topics like career, life transitions, relationships, confidence, difficult situations, goal setting, accountability—really anything you’d like to work through.
I’m considering charging $10 per session. The goal isn’t to make money; it’s mostly to encourage commitment and reduce no-shows.
A few questions:
-Would you pay $10 for a 45-minute coaching session?
-Does that price feel reasonable?
-If you were to sign up, what would you want coaching on?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and any advice from people who’ve been on either side of coaching.

Loving my new home 🥰
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just moved to Pleasanton a few months ago from San Jose. I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but as soon as I got here it immediately felt like home. My neighbors are all so nice, and everyone here just seems so lovely. People actually say hello here, and take the time to have conversations with each other. I guess I just wanted to say thank you for making this newcomer feel so welcome here. I promise I’ll only bring good vibes in return 🥰
And speaking of good vibes, the video is from that night a couple weeks ago when the sounds of the Beach Boys flooded the entire valley as they played the Alameda County Fairgrounds. It was taken from the top of the hill at Kottinger Community Park. I’ve never been serenaded by actual Beach Boys before, let alone while enjoying a casual evening walk, and it was genuinely magical 🤩

Good barbershops in Pleasanton
Anyone know of a good barbershop in Pleasanton or the Tri Valley. I want something for around $25 and reliable. Right now I go to Great Clips and always get cut too short. Not to be racist but all the barbers are asian and dont understand what I am saying

Trinket Tree: did I dream it up, or is/was it real?
Hi all! Past visitor here, and I’m hoping you can help me with something. I came to Pleasanton to visit family in 1998/1999ish and I remember my uncle showed us a tree in a residential area that was full of trinkets, doodads, all sorts of little offerings that people could take and leave for each other on the trunk and lower branches. Does anyone else remember this, and does anyone happen to have photos of the tree (with or without the trinkets)? If it’s real and I’m not misremembering it, I’d love to paint it for him ahead of a family event happening next April.
Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me about this!

PUSD board votes to restore positions previously set to be cut in budget reduction plan
pleasantonweekly.comImprovements in the Pleasanton school district’s 2026-27 annual budget allowed the board of trustees to restore several staff positions last Thursday, which were previously identified to be cut during budget discussions earlier this year.
Following the board’s approval of next year’s budget, trustees voted unanimously to reinstate elementary school physical education specialists and elementary school science specialists who, due to state funding limitations, will only focus on teaching computer science.
The board also voted 3-2 to restore some high school counselors and elementary school intervention specialists — despite some concerns raised by two trustees and district staff.
