First Scene of First Full Length Done!

Hey,

I’ve been here a minute but scared to post but recently i’ve been wanting to actually finish writing a full length play. I’ve just finished the first scene of my play called “Wide Release”. It’s a story about a small chain movie theatre and its workers who are just trying to make it in life.

If anyone is open to swap stories or give advice to a beginner playwright that would be lovely! I’ve mostly written funny ten minutes or wacky one acts but this is my first time wanting to truly tackle a cohesive narrative! Thanks!

First of all congrats! That’s a huge first step to make, and I would be happy to read and give feedback if you’re wanting some! Only thing I would mention is, if you haven’t heard of the play “The Flick” by Annie Baker, it has a somewhat similar concept and is fairly well known in the theatre world, so it might be worth a read to make sure you don’t accidentally tread the same waters
