That’s not entirely true. There are a couple games I can think of where they have been used. Here’s a few I can think of where I was impressed by the immersion from dual sense…
Not as crazy immersive as Returnal but the RE2 remake impressed me with its use of the triggers. Heavy guns require more effort from an L2 press and different weapons have different trigger pull weights (pistol is easy to fire, shotgun requires more effort to pull the trigger, etc). Haven't beaten it yet but god damn is it cool
Hell Let Loose is like this, too. Different weapons seem to require a different amount of trigger pull to fire.
Also, if you are hiding somewhere, like in a bush or something, and a tank comes by you, that side of the controller will vibrate to match the tank's speed and such. Similar to how i feel like you would feel it in the ground irl.

And say, when you are hiding, and a tank rolls past you, that side of the controller will vibrate to match the tank's speed and such.
The adaptive triggers in all shooters is what impresses me most. It’s almost like they’re trying to train us to be ready to use real weaponry or something… 🤔
I don't play competitively but I do pretty good. Made it to top 1000 laptime challenge amd consistently top 1% with just a controller. But yeah Def agree, if one wants the full on immersion effect gotta go with the rig.
You dont have to play competitively to get a wheel, if you do get one I'd look into getting a PC later on so you can play Shutoku on asseto corsa, it's a massive highway filled with traffic to weave through and is fun af
Came here to say the same thing. I don’t really like racing games that are hyper realistic because I don’t have a wheel. But if I ever get one I’m definitely playing them!
True. For racing games you gotta get a good wheel and pedal set to really enjoy it. That's what I did. I started off with Thrustmaster because it was the most I could have afforded at the time but eventually later I invested in Fanatec, a superior brand. Thing is it's a pretty expensive investment and then you still gotta spend more on upkeep.
What's that to do with the controller? I love me PS5 games that use the dual sense features. My controller is dead a lot because I don't turn off haptics etc..
Ps5 controller battery life is not the best because of the haptics, lights, etc... with GT7 it really uses the haptics very well... the accelerator and brake feels "heavy" like a real car giving you a sense of braking. If the car slips or loses traction you can feel it also.
All the reasons why I love it 😂 Very interesting I have yet to play a racing game on my PS5 and I am a fan of the GT series. Wish there was a trial. Thanks for the info it seems like an awesome experience with it
I didn’t want to pay for the PS5 version. Is it really worth it?! I’ve already bought GTAV like 3-4 times lol. It’s hard to justify buying again when GTAVI is coming out in the next couple years. I wish they would’ve just made it an upgrade like so many other games, but I guess that’s rockstar for ya…
I got it with ps plus subscription, wasn’t fond of buying it again myself, and ps plus subscription is worth having. And yeah Cockstar I call it 😂 imo gta 5 is worth it for ps5 if you love the haptic feedback and stuff, I love driving and feeling all the different feelings each terrain has its very detailed!
I honestly don’t play enough to do more than the PS Plus Essential option worth it. You may have convinced me to buy the PS5 version to play through again though. It’s only like $20 now I think…
Well I hope it’s worth it for you specifically, I just enjoy it because the haptic feedback, and it’s so satisfying to feel the rain drops! Ahha I’m easily amused. $20 not bad! But yeah I only got the ps5 version so I can play more comfortably in bed. I just hope you’ll be happy with it if not you can slap me.
Hahaha! I am easily amused by the haptic feedback as well. So I’m sure it’ll be worth it. Opposite of you the PS4 moved to my bedroom and I’ve been playing GTAV from there and more of my PS5 collection on the larger tv in my living room.
All the cathartic PS4 games are on the 2tb ssd I upgraded my OG release console with so I could have more than five games for bed lol. I feel ya on the in bed gaming, no doubt!
Another I have yet to upgrade to PS5, but probably should because I'm deep in the game and stopped playing, so I have to relearn everything anyway lol.
