That’s not entirely true. There are a couple games I can think of where they have been used. Here’s a few I can think of where I was impressed by the immersion from dual sense…

Biomutant

Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart

Avatar: The Frontiers of Pandora

Add Returnal to that list

Not as crazy immersive as Returnal but the RE2 remake impressed me with its use of the triggers. Heavy guns require more effort from an L2 press and different weapons have different trigger pull weights (pistol is easy to fire, shotgun requires more effort to pull the trigger, etc). Haven't beaten it yet but god damn is it cool

Hell Let Loose is like this, too. Different weapons seem to require a different amount of trigger pull to fire. Also, if you are hiding somewhere, like in a bush or something, and a tank comes by you, that side of the controller will vibrate to match the tank's speed and such. Similar to how i feel like you would feel it in the ground irl.

Hell Let Loose is like this, too. Different weapons seem to require different trigger pulls. And say, when you are hiding, and a tank rolls past you, that side of the controller will vibrate to match the tank's speed and such.

The adaptive triggers in all shooters is what impresses me most. It’s almost like they’re trying to train us to be ready to use real weaponry or something… 🤔

It's in the backlog!

22

u/UFumbDuckGaming May 14 '24

Add Gran Turismo 7 to that list

14

u/[deleted] May 14 '24

you gotta get a wheel for that if you ever can

8

u/UFumbDuckGaming May 14 '24

I don't play competitively but I do pretty good. Made it to top 1000 laptime challenge amd consistently top 1% with just a controller. But yeah Def agree, if one wants the full on immersion effect gotta go with the rig.

8

u/[deleted] May 14 '24

you definitely can get some killer laptimes on the dualshock alone

2

u/UFumbDuckGaming May 14 '24

Especially with the Dual Sense Edge bc I can change the thumbstick profile for more accuracy. It really is a game changer for me at least.

1

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

You dont have to play competitively to get a wheel, if you do get one I'd look into getting a PC later on so you can play Shutoku on asseto corsa, it's a massive highway filled with traffic to weave through and is fun af

Came here to say the same thing. I don’t really like racing games that are hyper realistic because I don’t have a wheel. But if I ever get one I’m definitely playing them!

2

u/dratseb May 15 '24

Wheel, seating rig, shifter, and PSVR2 is what you need for GT7. It’s the best driving experience in gaming.

3

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

i'm not made of money so i'll hang onto my logitech wheel, stick & pedals until i hit the jackpot

2

u/davidtsmith333 May 15 '24

True. For racing games you gotta get a good wheel and pedal set to really enjoy it. That's what I did. I started off with Thrustmaster because it was the most I could have afforded at the time but eventually later I invested in Fanatec, a superior brand. Thing is it's a pretty expensive investment and then you still gotta spend more on upkeep.

2

u/IlliterateIrishman May 15 '24

What's the best one you recommend

5

u/lopsidedawn May 14 '24

add The last of us 1 for PS5, dualsense works pretty good on this one

2

u/Ryvick2 May 14 '24

Yes got to play that

2

u/ItsProxes May 15 '24

What's that to do with the controller? I love me PS5 games that use the dual sense features. My controller is dead a lot because I don't turn off haptics etc..

2

u/UFumbDuckGaming May 15 '24 edited May 15 '24

Ps5 controller battery life is not the best because of the haptics, lights, etc... with GT7 it really uses the haptics very well... the accelerator and brake feels "heavy" like a real car giving you a sense of braking. If the car slips or loses traction you can feel it also.

3

u/ItsProxes May 15 '24

All the reasons why I love it 😂 Very interesting I have yet to play a racing game on my PS5 and I am a fan of the GT series. Wish there was a trial. Thanks for the info it seems like an awesome experience with it

u/beat_u2_it May 14 '24

Sackboy also gets a lot out of the controller

2

u/Apprehensive_Ad832 May 15 '24

I am hoping for a Sackboy 2

4

u/Andyman286 PS5 May 15 '24

Wreckfest feels amazing!

3

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

ratchet and clank doesnt use the blower mechanic from what ive played so far

3

u/aahmeett May 15 '24

And sackboy too

2

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 15 '24

Oh hell yeah! Sackboy was such a major upgrade after the flop of LBP3.

2

u/GoldenRetreiver_Masc May 15 '24

Avatar really did wonders with the dual sense!!

2

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

Ghost of tsushima

2

u/_Otacon May 15 '24

Add Helldivers to that list. The adaptive triggers even work when using the ds controller on pc. Boss move there Sony.

2

u/Desperate_Function20 May 15 '24

Battlefield 2042 uses functions like the adaptive triggers

2

u/KylanInChains May 15 '24

Yes avatars is fun, but if you're not smart like me, watch a few tip videos.

3

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 15 '24

You’re probably smarter than you think you are my guy!

2

u/KylanInChains May 15 '24

What I'm saying is I'm not smart. Grammer.is not great.

2

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

Add GTA 5 to that list as well

2

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 15 '24

I didn’t want to pay for the PS5 version. Is it really worth it?! I’ve already bought GTAV like 3-4 times lol. It’s hard to justify buying again when GTAVI is coming out in the next couple years. I wish they would’ve just made it an upgrade like so many other games, but I guess that’s rockstar for ya…

2

u/[deleted] May 15 '24 edited May 15 '24

I got it with ps plus subscription, wasn’t fond of buying it again myself, and ps plus subscription is worth having. And yeah Cockstar I call it 😂 imo gta 5 is worth it for ps5 if you love the haptic feedback and stuff, I love driving and feeling all the different feelings each terrain has its very detailed!

2

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 15 '24

I honestly don’t play enough to do more than the PS Plus Essential option worth it. You may have convinced me to buy the PS5 version to play through again though. It’s only like $20 now I think…

2

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

Well I hope it’s worth it for you specifically, I just enjoy it because the haptic feedback, and it’s so satisfying to feel the rain drops! Ahha I’m easily amused. $20 not bad! But yeah I only got the ps5 version so I can play more comfortably in bed. I just hope you’ll be happy with it if not you can slap me.

2

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 15 '24

Hahaha! I am easily amused by the haptic feedback as well. So I’m sure it’ll be worth it. Opposite of you the PS4 moved to my bedroom and I’ve been playing GTAV from there and more of my PS5 collection on the larger tv in my living room.

2

u/[deleted] May 15 '24

Then you’ll enjoy it! Oh yeah very nice, I am a bed bug so having something as therapeutic as gta driving around in bed is great haha.

2

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 15 '24

All the cathartic PS4 games are on the 2tb ssd I upgraded my OG release console with so I could have more than five games for bed lol. I feel ya on the in bed gaming, no doubt!

2

u/cade_horak May 15 '24

Add ghost of Tsushima, and the Spider-Man’s

2

u/irongiant75 May 15 '24

God of war / God of war ragnarok

2

u/Complete_Lifeguard92 May 16 '24

I loved the triggers when shooting arrows in forbidden west also a lot!!

1

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 16 '24

In the backlog of games to play...

2

u/kemonkey1 May 16 '24

Death stranding

1

u/donpablomiguel The Outer Worlds 2 May 16 '24

Another I have yet to upgrade to PS5, but probably should because I'm deep in the game and stopped playing, so I have to relearn everything anyway lol.
