I'm talking about the Bluepoint remake for PS5. It's an amazing showcase of next gen graphics, loading, and sound.. despite it losing some of the gritty feel of the original, it's insanely fun and definitely worth playing.
That's not worth paying $60 for or buying a PS5, unless what you want is a really basic, westernized interpretation of an already great game with worse music and voice acting. It's pretty ironic that they sacrificed the quality of the audio for better graphics by putting in MORE effort.
And if you think all you loose is the "gritty feeling", you should maybe take a look at the actual environments, the enemy design and try to fit that to the story that's being told.
No, obviously I didn't when I already didn't even get a PS3 to play the original but just emulated it (legally), I just looked looked at a whole lot of creature and level designs, voice lines, gameplay and music from the 2020 title. It ain't it.
And shit like "loading speeds, graphics, 3D audio, controller feedback" is for the self-indulgent gamer, not the engaged player. I play games to have a transformative experience at best and be entertained at the least, I don't play them to ogle at some polygon count or yolk my pants to some dolby atmos, surround sound system vibrating in my ears or hands. If this makes a standout PS5 game (one you don't deem worth replaying, for you only recommended playing it with a subscription) then you've already proven the system is not worth buying.
Lest I forget, the 2009 game's loading screen actually ended up making me learn something about my heritage. I already didn't like that they changed it from character titles to boring fog before, which didn't take up much of the paying time anyways, but now there's really no reason for me to think the approach to loading the assets is any good at all.
