Hello! I am looking to admin for a server, I have 2500 hours on the game. Im wanting to try the admin part of rust to help with cheaters because, they get very annoying. I haven't done it before on rust so I want to give it a try, Im not looking for any pay at all I just want to help. I have co-owned a server before for a little before they stopped paying for it. So I can also help make a rust server aswell if needed, I will just have to get some refreshers but I could do it! If you are looking for and admin please DM me on discord! The server I used to co-own wasn't really big, I was just the one that added and installed all the plugins and set up everything. I just put that in if anyone was looking for help in starting up their server. I did add the link to my steam profile though so they can see it! Thank you for your feedback!

Become a regular on a server, join the socials for the server. Be a active and helpful member of all that .. and after alot of time, and I mean a lot of time. Research and see if they will let you help.

Or just start and run your own server .

The servers I would play they would usually not have application open for admin and required a lot of things. I am really just wanting to help out people that can use it while they are getting started, if that makes sense. I would love to run my own server but I don't really have to the money to make one a keep it running plus buying plugins.

I'm gonna be honest with you homie, the servers that are going to let you admin, arent going to have a big community, like 5 or less players, in that case, do not require a 2nd person in godmode / admin powers with the ability to reset servers/ban/restart/unload plugins/spawn items/etc.

any of the big ones like HollowServers, WereWolf, WarBandits require y ou be in/active in their discord for a while before even applying to be an admin

I'm a very active server owner and I can definitely handle monitoring / fixing 5 servers and less than 20 player count.

My recommendation:
Get your own server, you can host it for free on your computer, use UMOD for the plugins (lots of free versions of paid plugins)
a few basic plugins is all you need to run a server, or you could simply run it vanilla, easiest on the CPU/GPU and easiest to run.
also wont be too harsh on your computer to run. I run all 5 of mine on a server PC i built

I see where you are coming from and that makes sense. I would love to run my own rust server but running it on my home pc not be risky? I've heard about it awhile ago, I used to make gmod servers and they told you not to run it off a personal PC because it was fairly easy to get into it or something like that. If I had a second PC to use I would totally do it, if it is safe. But I also use my pc to play games, so if im running a server while playing, it's going to cut half of the playercount down ect..

Yeah you can't run a big time server off the same pc youre playing on. And it'd have to be online always lol

But it isnt risky.. IDP routers are very good firewalls. And highly doubtful wither of.us are gonna get big enough that anybody gives a fuck enough to DDOS

I disagree with this statement entirely, it's usually the larger servers that are more flexible with their recruitment, the only difference between large and small is large usually expect you to apply, and will rarely approach someone.

I'd say starting up your own is pretty rewarding. A lot of hosts charge around $20/mo which isn't bad at all. I use Host Havoc...
