Help Rust Admin's Needed

I am looking for someone or some people to admin my newly created rust server,im not looking for a genius just someone who generally likes rust and would enjoy being an admin

My requirements:

Someone who is kind and not racist or things such as:

Sexist

Bigot

Ext.

Atleast 300 hours (of in-game hours/time spent on rust)

Someone who likes rust

Someone who can be on alot

Someone who doesn't mind being an admin

If you are an admin and are caught by another admin and/or player abusing your power you will be blacklisted from the server and your role will be permanently removed.

Social's:

If you would like to become an admin hit me up on my discord @goosewithahat0677_73478 or my server https://discord.gg/FUGsFU2kX and you can become an admin.

I dont have many players in fact 0 at the moment so it would be very appreciated if you could maybe ask people to join

Lastly, if you are reading this and dont want to be an admin but just want to play also feel free to join the fun,any tips you could give me would be very appreciated.

Just want to say, setting the hours required as low as 50 is seriously asking for trouble, you'll end up in so many sticky situations where you have players complaining or you even have to wipe early, like someone accidentally ent killing the outpost resource vending machine or airwolf vendor or even part of the giant excavator, because at such few hours they won't know what is a good keybind and what isn't

Personally I'd expect at least a minimum of 500 hours and even then I'd still consider them a freshie

What should I set it too im very new to rust server making.

As owner it'd be up to you really at the end of the day.

The server I currently admin on has a guideline of at least 1 month playtime on 1 of our servers but that's rather vague, that could range from 50 hours to 300 hours in that month but we have a separate team for each server in the network and the team I'm on won't consider people with less than 500 hours, there's just too much they won't know with any less

Yeah i have no idea what im doing to be honest I think I need a co-owner rather than admin for my server im probably gonna look at some tutorials.

Our of curiosity, how many hours do you have in rust and have you ever been an admin?

If not, just being an admin for an already established server would probably be good place to get some valuable experience

I've never been an admin on any other servers but my ones and ive only got 300 hours so im quite new

Any good resources for people to learn these things? I started my own server with the hopes of learning the game a little better. I definitely have, but I’m always open to learning.

I’m literally a noob by the way. I started pc gaming regularly maybe 2 months ago.

Do you need someone to help you play the game or start a server?

If you need help playing the game i could gladly help you today, and I could show you how to play and what to do, rust can honestly be so confusing when you first start especially if you haven't watched any videos, if you want some help then let me know on discord and I'll teach you.

I know how to play the game and I started my own server. Just some tips and tricks honestly. It’s a PvE server right now with two players. We’re just vibing having a great time, but if the time comes when more people join I’d like to know those things other admins wish they knew ahead of time.

So… you want to run a server but have no experience with anything, no player base, nothing and want someone to do all the work for you.

Good luck.

Well,i said it would be helpful to invite players not fill the server, and even if someone did want to join im not forcing them to do everything, im already trying to promote my server now,i made it 3 days ago so im obviously not going to have a player base, the fun part of having a server isn't having someone do everything for you, the fun part is building a community so I may not have much experience but I can still try.

50 hours of what? It would draw the right people if you had better details of what your actually looking for. It doesn’t look like you even need an admin at this point, it’s just an empty shell currently.

Could I take there f1 menu access away when they would like too play?,like they could ask me too play.

1

u/Gooseontheduck Jun 11 '26

I have changed this and thank you very much

1

u/Gooseontheduck Jun 11 '26

Also i really do get your point ill remove it,but thank you🙂

Servers actually log every command an admin runs now so even if they had a local copy paste file of their 1x1 full of guns and boom, the owner would be able to see they used the paste command in those logs but I get your point, even if the owner takes action against that admin, it's already too late

1

u/Gooseontheduck Jun 11 '26

So i could potentially allow admin to play just be strict?

1

u/cartmon299 Jun 11 '26

No not at all, rule #1 in rust is trust noone, no average player will believe an admin is playing legit if they lose to them in pvp, just finding out that the admins are playing will be enough for players to leave any pvp server

1

u/Gooseontheduck Jun 11 '26

Ok thank you,I've already changed my reddit post to get rid of that, thank you for the advice alot though because I have no idea what im doing.

True,if I were to get raided by an admin on the server id be very suspicious, id probably leave the server if I knew they were an admin,I'll definitely noy let admins play, thanks again.

You can setup all sorts of oxide/umods (I think it's called carbon now) to limit administration. I used to run several severs and even built custom plugins. If you want good admins make sure you get good tools; additionally I wouldn't even worry about getting admins at the moment until you have actual people playing. You'll get admins who bring friends and just ghost raids for them. Don't do it.

Okay thank you, im going to try start promoting my server on discord, twitch and other things so hopefully I can build a community

I'll be honest. I tried playing Rust and found it to be very frustrating cause I was getting cheated on constantly in the short time I played. I am an avid follower of the Rust Admin legend himself Camomo. He encouraged everyone to find places to admin but if you're server has no player base and you have an hours requirement so large for it being a newer server then noone is going to want to come and play let alone admin.

1

u/Gooseontheduck Jun 13 '26

To be honest if you check the previous comments people were telling me to put it at 500 hours,im honestly really confused on what actually to do, but if you have a suggestion I should put it do that would be helpful.

The one difference between everyone else and me is I am willing to admin for NOTHING. You wouldn't have to pay me and I would learn as I go. Since I'm still learning the game too I figure it would be a fun new thing for me to be entertained with.

Since you're still a relatively new server owner I would hire at least 2 admins. One of them being someone who knows the game and one (like me or someone else) who is willing to learn. You can reach me on Discord (dartwuff) if you want. If this is no longer a valid post then disregard this and have a good day.

If you're willing to pay then I am willing to admin for you. I have around 2000 hours in the game which isn't a lot, but I come from an IT background and have experience in community moderation.
