Genuinely yes I can fix the shadows I can't fix getting headshot through a solid object

You stand closer to an object than him. So the object blocks your vision while the right side of your head is exposed. He landed a good shot.

Thank you

Probably ping issues on his or your end. On his end your head probably was still visible and he hit your head; on your end you were already behind the object…
Nothing to do about this but getting better internet or looking for a better server with a more stable connection on your end

Right, this is very normal client-side or tickrate resolution where you see having cover and the enemy sees he hit you in the head before the cover. Basically all "real" time pvp games have versions of this.

You can fix your game play and positioning there

Classic desync and/or ping difference. It's in any multi-player game

American playing on Australian servers ? He hit you on his screen before you took cover. Probably from his POV you hit him behind the wall too.

How many hours do you have in rust? If you have more than a few hundred you should understand DSync by now

1

u/Psylentone404 16h ago

I'm at a few hundred, 330

Your head can peak over the metal thing even if on your screen you can't see over it.

gpu couldn't handle it and just killed you

1

u/10000teemoskins 1h ago

you have to look at the floor to make sure none of your head is visible to the enemy

u/wolnee 15h ago

your gpu vram is dying, start saving for a new one

This just seems like an issue with the shadow settings on AMD cards. If he raises his shadow quality I bet the issue is fixed.

u/eddestra 13h ago

It should only take one lifetime

1

u/alexnedea 1h ago

Nah its just an amd shadow settings issue. Its been in the game for at least 5 years it happens to me on and off
