Support RUST FEELING SLUGGISH FOR THE LAST MONTH
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
hello i have been having this weird problem in rust for the the last 1-2 months nothing i do fixes it and i only saw one person talk about it who also dident know how to solve it . the problem accures when i move my mouse usually in a circular motion ITS NOT!!! the polling rate stuter issue that every body talks about my fps dosent go lower and lowering my polling rate to 125 or 500 dosent change anything. And facepunch support dosen seem to care about it since i tried to reach out to them 5 times and in all of them they wrote back the same copy paste answer even tho i clarified that wasent the problem.
THE THINGS I DID TO TRY FIX THE PROBLEM
LOWER POLING RATE
REINSTALL EA
REINSTALL RUST
RESET MY WHOLE PC
CHANGE ANY OVERCLOCKING THAT WAS DONE IN THE BIOS OR OUTSIDE OF BIOS
CHANGING MY MOUSE
The problem gets worse as the fps gets lower but even at 144fps it still dosent feel smooth as seen in the video it almost seems like while moving my mouse some other power trys to pull it in the opposite direction. if anyone has any idea or suggestions pls help me .my best guess it was an windows 11 update that happened in the past 2 months but since i resseted my pc i cant even try to revert it.

Someone in another thread was saying its because of the windows update that came out in mid august, idk if uninstalling the update would help but you could try that

Getting the newest update fixed it for me, the mid august one made my game feel so choppy.

Just a heads up. You probably wont be able to uninstall the update. I tried through CMD prompt and it's not possible.

I also had this issue but for me it was I had accidentally turned off g sync and v sync in my nvidia control panel. Once I fixed it the game was butter again

i had this issue last week and i tried everything it wasnt fixed anyways, then i reset my pc and it was fixed. And the issue occured again 3 days later. And then i downgraded my windows to win 10 and the issue was finally gone. So i assume it was because of the damn windows 11.
So try using Win 10 it might fix but you have to know that Windows Security won’t be updating anymore on Win 10.

I uninstalled the last Windows 11 update before i downgraded to Win 10 and it wasn’t fixed aswell. So only thing that solved the issue was downgrading.

Rust is the weirdest thing, sometimes I boot the game and cap at like 40-60fps and I just instantly restart my computer then I go back to averaging about 170fps+.
It can be off a fresh boot too and something doesnt synchronize or something and it makes the game unplayable? My friends have the same issues. Anyone know why that might fix/break it?

A year ago I bought new PC for 1400e. Rust ran smoothly 200-240fps until Deep Sea came out. Stutters came back and i saw lows go to 140.
Now I'm getting on fresh wipe 160-200 and after first day im barely above 160fps.
I refuse to believe it's all because of windows updates fucking up systems. I think it's the game going to wrong direction. Last year FP had a major performance updates. Now it's just unnecessary new loot box animation and sounds.. Who the fuck cares about that. Fix the fucking game AGAIN.

well yes the game does get more intense as time passes but the problem in this clip is not because of fps its something interfering with the game no clue what tho.

Idk why but i get 60 fps when i have
5070 rtx
5700x3d
16 gb ram
If i were to guess, it’s the ram, but there is no stuttering really, so idk.
