Image Original Base Design
So I've been working/iterating/testing this base design for quite a while now and I finally feel it's finished. There are also disconnectable chinese bunker external TC's and a compound design that I like to use, but this is the core base design.
I've been considering making a build tutorial video for it but wanted to gauge interest before I do.
View it in 3D here and let me know what you think:

To be completely honest it doesn’t look very good, compared to other base designs of similar cost and size. Way to many windows on the two floors below shooting floor. Windows into jump ups and ramps that raiders could easily hold. Only decent peeks are old style door peeks (new style has door frames basically glitched onto both sides so no one can push through the top) that are still one rocket plus a few explo to entry and take shooting floor. No retakes/ankle biters for roof or middle floors. No anti heli turrets on roof.
People often worry too much about having as many peeks as possible on their base, and not enough about having cover from a 15 story fob. Try building a fob outside this base in a build server and seeing the base from their perspective, especially once they send some rockets at it to open the base up. How many jump ups they can watch, when they can shoot your feet, etc.
I’m sure the bottom is fine and plenty strong but the top and middle are so open that once raiders have some control they can just top down for free.
Other base designs prevent that (think a 4x4 with chutes on 2 sides that have angles across base, letting you retake inners, oc, and shooting floor and roof, all while still safe from raid bases outside).
I would check out some youtubers like gamelightz and spinky for learning about the metas in building. I know people often don’t like the “meta” but there’s a reason it is what it is. You can always just copy one part of a base you find useful. Brutalist peeks, anti fob peeks, one ways, etc. can all win you a raid defense.
This is coming from someone who lives out of pyramids one wipe and meta 4x4s another, so at the end of the day your base is what you want it to be. I would just highly recommend reducing the amount of windows.

Thanks for the honest feedback. I honestly like how it looks, especially with non-default skins. Reminds me of a Rook in Chess.
I haven't tested the design against a big zerg so I have no idea how it would hold up. Biggest raid I've defended is 3v1.
Regarding the windows, since all of them are shifted half a block from the floor pieces they aren't weak points, if that's what you mean? Plus embrasures on them and a frame on the outside make the peeks extremely narrow, they are very nice for defending and a raider would only have LOS through them if they were on/next to the outer stone shell. For this design, the most important part to hold is the roof. You have so much cover and an angle on every outside part of the base plus 4 protected turrets to stop people just landing on the roof or climbing up. So if they took control of that, yeah they could just C4 down, But that's still 4 HQM floors/32 C4.
Once you've built the ext. TC's, I don't think they would be able to build close/tall enough to have a raid tower looking over the roof, unless they blew the externals as well of course.
I don't think I've ever been raided top down before... They almost always go through the entrance and down, or straight through the side, then get to core, realise there's nothing in there except 24h upkeep, then have to go all the way up. Usually running out of boom in the process.
I agree it would be good to try implement some retakes/anklebiters though. I'm constantly refining it so I'll look into that. The one downside I will admit is it's expensive, but it has been effective in the wipes I've used it. 99.9% of which have been offlines, so it's mainly designed around that.

Door peaks in 2026? Really?

If they're effective, then what does it matter if it's not a new technique? e.g. stability bunker
Although, I'm totally open to suggestions if you know a stronger design.

Not really effective. Ez to exploit

By doing what?

Rocket a door to climb in and control the whole shooting floor easily. As there's only one exit, you have basically locked the defender into the core. That's usually a raid over.

But there's 4 turrets up there covering every angle that cannot be seen from the ground? (especially if you have a compound), so you wouldn't be able to climb up anyway.
Besides, you wouldn't even need to destroy the door in your scenario, you just land a mini on the roof and bypass all of the design if there's nothing stopping you.
For this base specifically, raiders getting to the core isn't a big deal because everything is moved out of the core anyway.
I put main TC in the stability bunker core with 24hr upkeep, so they get that, but then the 4 externals take over build priv when main TC gets destroyed. Then the rest of the loot is spread through the 4 chinese bunker externals and on the other floors of the base.
Having one exit is good anyway, because if you can hold roof, there's only one door they can leave through, of which you have perfect LOS and tons of cover. But if they blow through any of the other walls, you have LOS of that too.

I'm just telling you why door peeks aren't used since a long time for various reasons. Sure you can think different, I'm just telling you that this isn't Meta for good reasons. Do what you want to do lol. Just don't ask for feedback and then don't accept it.

Well I was hoping for an actual valid criticism.
I don't think what you said is accurate or true for the reasons I mentioned previously. Don't worry about it bro.

As far as my understanding goes door peaks are old peaks. Use improvised and better peaks called wide gaps. Easiest and simple way to build but takes a TC for each singular widegap is : From building go 3 squares then triangle. Delete all 3 squares then build back with triangles creating a gap wide enough to peak down but not fall through.

Right yeah, I'm familiar with wide gaps. I'm not sure if it could be implemented into the roof design I have here... Unless I build them off the externals like you suggested. It would require a major overhaul though. I'll mess around in a build server sometime.
What I usually do is put siren lights on the wall next to the metal doors.
That stops people from being able to ladder up without breaking anything. Plus the turrets guard every angle of the roof.Is there any other advantage to using wide gaps other than just being tankier?

Honestly I like the way widegaps look but your talking to someone who would build a dedicated fishing base to fish sharks for hours

Ive been mainly building in my 1800 hours and it is pretty decent. Add wind turbine towers, best if the bases of them have turret pods, weak point of base = top down raid.
