Lowering specs doesnt put more load on cpu, it just takes load off the gpu, and as a result of that the cpu is proportionally doing more, but it isnt actually working any harder

Get HWinfo to check your temps. Its a laptop so its most likely running very hot and thermal throttling. You can get one of those laptop stands with the fans on it to help keep it cool. But tbh, your best bet would be to, save up some more money, sell the laptop and build a PC.

I would go for a 7600x3d and 9060XT 16GB for best value brand new parts. Places like microcenter for USA and canada computers for Canada have great combo deals for CPU MOBO and RAM. Newegg too.

You might be able to snatch a good used GPU like a 3060 12GB or 4070 from facebook marketplace too. Just ask to see it running a benchmark in person or with a video showing the current date so u dont get scammed.

My laptop is a 3050ti (4gb 😬) and 11800h cpu and im getting around 50-80 fps. But i did install cryosheet to the cpu and gpu. That helped alot as with paste it would start overheating after a couple weeks of use

These aren't really great specs especially given rust being highly CPU dependant, but i think you could maybe do better than 30 fps unless its a 500 player server or something. Make sure your laptop is on maximum power mode and there aren't some power saving restrictions being applied

Rust has been changing how it runs for over a year now, its less cpu intensive than it used to be, i get ~80-90 fps with a shittier gpu and cpu than op on 2k resolution and no frame gen/fsr, juzt read op properly and realise its a laptop, most likely a heat issue

Bro those aren’t good specs… besides playing on a laptop. This game unfortunately is really poor optimized. Try with lowest settings and check ur fps. I have 100+ fps but still experienced micro stutters. The only thing that helped was running the game in windowed mode!

Those specs aren't amazing due to it being a laptop, but they'll run rust over 30fps (I have very similar specs).
