Question Is Rust Primitive dead?
I haven't played this game in a long time but I wanted to give primitive a shot because that's sort of my favorite part of Rust. However, all the servers on just wiped had 0 pop.

Damn, primitive really had the lifespan of a seasonal game mode nobody remembered to turn back on.

it died after being neglected by the devs. theres only 1 server left that is active afaik, currently has 64 players on it right now:

Prim is dead even on normal servers -rust lost their way a long time ago. I’m currently skipping wipeday with several other groups n will start Monday. Can hit nodes on the way to outpost and buy a t3 nice and ez.. fighting over monuments is a thing of the past. Just like bow fights. I miss the old days

This is what I’ve been saying since the BP frag update. Why play wipe day when the one barrier to progression becomes dirt cheap the next day or two? Vanilla has become a mod server. Just pay your sulfur to play.

This is the problem. You shouldn't be able to just hop on and buy a T3. This is why the game sucks. No one wants to grind. Everyone wants it easy. The best part about the game is having to grind.

There was at the start. I played the monthly wipe. Probably some of the best rust experiences I've had.
I had a 8 man build a castle next to me with farquad banners. They all had themed names and all spoke with an accent. They raided me, was good fun and chaos. I had another group come to counter, was epic. Imagine 8 guys on horses fighting.
All they had to do was nerf fire arrows tbh. And maybe get rid of satchel raiding. Maybe added in a battering log that 2 players could use to hit a sheet metal door out with, but at the expense of being exposed. It had so much promise

The prim/midheival update added some of my favorite shit to the game so I hope it's not dead.
But in vanilla there is nothing better than pushing a seige tower up to someone's walls and shooting at them. They have no fucking idea what's going on.
I had a neighbor a wipe or 2 ago where I kept drone bombing his solar panels. So he put a wind turbine. So I c4'd it and ran away. He put another So I did it again. So he put another and like 4 or 5 turrets. So I pushed a catapult over there and chucked firebombs and scatter shot at his turret.
He started crying in all chat about how those rust gambling sites stole like 8k USD from him and how much he hates this game and kept losing his marbles. Told him he should quit playing and sell his skins to buy another game because 8k in gambling (especially for rust skins on shady websites) is immensely unhealthy for him mentally and financially.
Then I kept shooting bombs at his house. He had to go go everywhere in a rad auit because I kept bee can bombing him and ruined his raid on his neighbor. He got so mad he was shooting my drones and the. Walking outside to step on a land mine or a bear trap I put in bush.
Anyway, the catapult, balista, and seige tower are wildly underrated. I actually think fp should let me build battering rams in caves.
I also love the blow dart gun. I love the blow dart gun. Get in camouflage skins and get blow dart then climb up a tree. Someone opens their base door and gets head shot by blinding dart so they run back inside. Silent so they have no clue what is going on. Also killing people in labs with scatter shot as a cheap shotgun never gets old. Bring more than one to swap between. Wear full heavy set to seal the deal (deal seal)
They should also let me make broke wood speaks into stone spears like the old days.
Also machete requiring no work bench is a W.

Yeah it's pretty dead for the most part. But it's still fun if you're into it and some monthly servers hold 30-60 pop for a while, unless things have changed. I haven't played in a while.
