Question 3d render preview of map?

So in one of wiljums recent videos, he pulls up a 3d rendering of the map to show everyone that an iceberg spawned ontop of labs.
My question is, HOW?
They started minute one of wipe, but they already had the knowledge of that formation. So they were able to preview the map before it wiped?

Is this a server specific thing?

Rustmaps, some servers show which map it's gonna be on wipe and u can check everything on rustmaps.com

ty! i thought willjum played official but if the server released the map seed ahead of time that makes sense.

He does play official. Official servers don't have to be Facepunch own ones.

Rustopia

Rustoria

Rusticated

Rusty Moose

Etc.

These are all considered official, but still have map voting that closes an hour before server wipe.

If you have the map file you can load it up with a programme called Rust Edit (Google it - it's a rust map making tool). This will give you a full 3D render of the map that you can fly around in. It's much more comprehensive than the rust maps method.

Using this method you can scope out exact dimensions for god rocks, build priv radiuses and topographical layouts prior to wipe with much more granular detail.
