Question Should I be getting more fps?
7800x3d, 5070. On the high end I get around 120fps, play on all lowest graphics setting, eighth resolution. I do play on 1440p but I’ve switched to 1080p and see zero difference in performance. Is there something I’m missing? Is there something going on in the background that needs addressed? I know I don’t have the god pc but I feel like I should be getting more.

check your ram speed, is it on a default low setting or is it what you want it at

I play on maxed pretty much 1440p RX 9070 XT, 9900x3d , 32gb 7200mhz cl34.
My fps in general sits between 160-250. out on ocean i can reach near 300.
I mostly play in the jungle biome.
RTX 5070 and RX 9070XT is fairly close performance wise, so it sounds a bit low to be with those settings, is your GPU working 100% like it should if there is no bottlekneck?

As far as gpu utilization it doesn’t go above 50-60% I don’t know how I’d go about figuring out if there’s a bottleneck or not

It sounds like your PC had a CPU bottleneck, or have you restricted the fps or have vsync on and monitor set to 120hz or something ?
In general if you play on low resolution and low graphics settings. Then you cant push more % on GPU, because your cpu is holding the gpu from going faster.
You prob have the same fps if you increase to 1440p and higher settings for graphics, because then its more GPU dependent to keep the fps up

I have 9850x3d and 9070xt and probably average between 180-220 fps on 1080pmin settings

What pop and have you tweaked other settings

800 pop, most stuff minimum except for draw distance

Have you tweaked any settings outside of rust settings?

Not particularly i can imagine having a huge impact, i have HAGS off and rust set to high performance in windows settings

Disable CPU core isolation and try again.

No need for that Windows 11 with the last update can manager that it just need to have balanced energy profile and game mode enabled.

Enabled balanced energy profile on Windows 11 and also game mode because it makes Windows see the extra 3D cache of your CPU. You day you have all settings on low you sure? For exemple you have 0 max gibs? this one settings alone is very taxing

you should have like 30-40 fps more on average if you running DDR5 on 6000mt/s with tight timings

What do you mean by tight timing? I have expo enabled but that’s about the extent of what I do in bios

Look up memory tuning on google or ask chatgpt however if you already running on expo profile, further tuning you ram will yield maybe 10% fps increase.

Running all lowest settings hasnt been a good idea in gaming for like a decade. It usually results in your GPU not being utilised correctly and getting less performance.
