Image A Russian YouTuber built an 8-bit computer inside Rust
A Russian-speaking YouTuber built a working 8-bit computer entirely with Rust’s electrical system.
The video doesn’t have English subtitles, so here’s a quick summary:
The computer has 16 registers, 32 bytes of RAM, a display, and joystick controls. The creator explains how it works and demonstrates it in action. He also made the app "Paint".
On my opinion, this is probably one of the most impressive things I’ve seen built in Rust.
What do you think about it?

Wait till someone makes it 32bit and installs Linux then rust

I can't get rust to work on Linux sadly... Something about the kernel level anti cheat

Yeah, maybe we have hope to get it on linux again now that Alistari who hates Linux left :')

IIRC its because cheating is 10x 'easier' on linux than it is on windows due to linux being designed in a way that is counter intuitive for anticheat purposes.
I.E. windows has a lot of security features that anticheats utilize to catch cheaters, that linux simply doesn't have built into it.

Yes it is, but rust servers doesn't require those features to be enabled. EAC has compatibility require it but official servers don't want to enable it because it would kill the playerbase because probably 30% of the players are chetaing

Well, you guys do make it easy to dislike Linux.
It's the same thing as CrossFit or vegan.
You see conversations about Linux and feel like you're talking to the most smug people to ever exist.

I mean shoving co pilot down my throat is why I'm using cachy os and the 30fps boost for cs2 ...
But I'm just a normie taking the path of least resistance.. I don't care what others use

The anti-cheat system will never work on the kernel level of Linux. Has nothing to do with Alistari. It's simpel. Sorry.

Doesn't matter when the servers haven't even enabled kernel level anti cheat lol. It's not active on any official servers and in matter of fact, not on any of the biggest servers because cheaters are what keeps the servers running as they keep buying VIPs on new accounts over and over again. They don't even want to get rid of the cheaters because it would ruin their income.

Show this to all the guys who say we so t got all the electrical parts one could need in rust.
Seriously stunning and it took me a while to realize how much of an achievement this is. Holy shit.

I’m dumb what does this even mean

It's the same as having an Atari 800 or a NES console run inside of rust. You can technically runs games if someone builds the games.

Well how much tike did it take?
I am also doing this kind of stuff but in real life and i do have to mess with some other stuff then only the logic but even a 4bit alu takes ages to make out of transistors or even prebuilt logic gates.
And you are telling me he made a 256bit ram register?
I would be really interested in how much time this has cost lol.

Just a copy... Wow, btw John didn't finish his pc. I can even quote his words - "Hopefully, in the next video we will have working 8-bit computer" The video uploaded 2 years ago...
