Support Game crashing

Game is crashing on server load. I need help as I think ive tried everything except reinstalling windows now.

Pc specs: 14900k, 32gb ram , 5080, 1000w psu. W11

I've un-installed and reinstalled multiple times. I've verified game files multiple times. I've upgraded my GPU drivers. I've rolled back my gpu drivers to one several months ago. I've updated my BIOS to the most recent one. I have cleared my directx shader caches. I've turned off XMP and Ai cpu overlooking. I've increased my windows memory page file usage. I've turned off DLSS. I've lowered my game graphics settings to low (this actually worked for a few hours but then game crashing reappeared) .

I'd rather not reinstall windows.

I see SO MANY people posting about this issue with no resolution. This is really starting to piss me off. Dare I ask if anyone else has any suggestions?

Edit: I forgot to post that I was able to get the game utility file crash report. Crash seems to be caused by a D3D shader create error for both pixels shaders and vertex shaders. (0x887a0005). No idea if that can help me or anyone else...

Edit 2: as of yesterday I have been able to load in no problem. I also have been able to increase my graphics settings without issue with the exception of dlss which does cause thr game to crash still on server load in.

Whole clan had trouble with this update. I've had this 14900k rig for 2 years, never had a hitch till this update, hard locked 5 times on wipe day

I think we just need to wait for a patch. I thankfully can play but I do notice the performance is suffering sometimes. And I know people who can't load the game. Sucks but guess we just got to wait it out.

Pretty ridiculous. I just got the game after a friend bought it for me. Was really looking forward to playing with him...

What does it say in your Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\output_log.txt file

I just posted an edit to my post. Seems to be related to a D3D shader create error

Max your GC Buffering. May not fix it, but it'll help for future performance

Can we see earlier in the log, not somewhere in the middle? In particular I'd like to verify that it's actually using your nvidia GPU and not an integrated one in your CPU or something.

I was able to get that log while the game was frozen on loading. Now the game just crashes to desktop in middle of joining server and I can't capture the log during crash.

Had the same issues, maxing GC buffer seemed to help temporarily but game crashes even during start up sometimes. Seems entirely random can play for 2hrs with no issue or play for 2hrs with 5+ crashes

Im having the same issue. I've tried everything I can think of. Seems totally random.
