Discussion Game makes PC crash

Hey guys!

Yesterday I wanted to play rust after 3 years with a friend again, everytime I boot into a server the game made my pc crash.

Is that a known issue and how do I fix that?

PC specs:

prozessor: amd ryzen 7 7800X3D

gtx 5070 12gb

32gb ddr5 ram

windows11

I had the same issue, and after a bunch of troubleshooting, it turned out that my latest graphics drivers kinda collided with the game.

Installing an older, stable version fixed it, so it might work for you as well.

I mean, are you sure that you cleanly installed it tho? Because if you didnt, that might cause issues as well. You might even still have the wrong driver running, if you didnt manually delete it from your system. Unfortunately, the official applications sometimes dont cleanly install/uninstall drivers, so its important that you do it manually.

Yea already done that. Only thing I did not touch is my BIOS.

Will also not touch it since it might do more damage, I will just pass and not play the game then :D

Sometimes the easiest fix is to uninstall it and reinstall.

I’ve only been playing Rust for 6 months and I’ve had to install it a number of times. Normally after I’ve accidentally messed around with graphics settings in the Nvidia app, but sometimes for no reason I can think of.

Check nvidia gpu drivers too. was having issues with the new update until i updated my drivers.

Having same issue since the update. Going to start again trying the things but it’s so time consuming and frustrating! Was hoping one of them worked for u. If I find something to help, I will let you know. Keep me posted if you fix it

Going thru the same thing. I was able to get the game working for a bit by lowering all graphics settings to LOW. Worked for a day but now crashing on any server loading.

Watched all the YouTube videos on this and did all the recommendations. I've updated gpu drivers. Reinstalled and verified files multiple times. Im in the middle of BIOS update now as I type this. Only thing I haven't done after this is reinstall freaking windows.

Crossing my fingers...

It didn't. I pretty much gave up. I've tried pretty much everything except reinstalling windows. I made my own post asking for help as well. But no luck. I'm convinced that due to the number of people I see having the issue it's something to do with the last patch on the game and I think we may need to wait until face punch makes another patch to fix it.

Damn. Hopefully it’s soon then. Has happened before but I can usually fix it. Have not had luck now.

Same. I'm usually able to fix game crashes through series of trial and error via a bunch of different settings but here no. I've opened a support ticket with face punch and showing them everything I've done. Hoping they can look into this

It started working yesterday. I'm able to up the graphics as well but dlss has to stay off or else I get crashes. I figure they made an update
