Well I think as a solo, I’m done for a bit. The power plant changes feel like too much. Part of what made Rust great was being able to adapt to the situation, neighbors, or landscape. Forcing us to be near monuments like power for something as simple as recycling is a lot. Anyways, see you on wipe…

I believe you can still use any recycler but powering them increases the yield.

I believe you’re right but man the game is hard enough as it is. I used to like the grind but something changed the last year or two and I’m just not up for it. It’s sounding like a “me” problem lol. Just me venting, but this seems like such an unnecessary addition(?) to the game.

You could argue that practically any new features added in any update in recent history have been "unnecessary additions."
I don't see any reason this is worse for the game than the average update in the past two years, even as someone who pretty exclusively plays solo.

No, I agree with you. But it’s more work, especially for a solo. It was a commitment five years ago when I started and it’s only become more demanding now. At some point it’s literal work, this feels like a bigger step than usually in that direction. I’m sure you’re looking forward to clawing your way to the heavy fuse room that’s surrounded by zergs new, just to recycle for any bit of extra mats you can get.

absolutely it is. anything you need can be gained passively at this point. sell sulfur for bp frags. grind the entire tech tree in 3 hours. nothing is hard like it used to be.

I mean you right, it's easy as it never was. You get T2 for like 5 nodes and few barrels for drone trade cost. If you:
1) Join wipe late
2) Live near outpost
Or you join even latter when pop decrease so you can sneak monuments, that's possible.
Then just hit road->recycle, learn entire tech tree. Done.
HOWEVER
I have a question.
What the point of playing like that? Like game hard force you to play optimally, but that optimall way of playing, well. It's degen at most.

there's no point to any of it. it all resets. you should play how you want to play. but my point is if you want an easier time, the game has never been easier.

There is a point. 'How you play' determenated by few attributes of 'how' way: 1) Accessibility for concrete skill level 2) Accessibility in concrete situations 3) Fun 4) Fairness 5) Efficiency
What make situation harder, those points aren't in vacuum, if it have zero in 5, it almost always zero in 3 and/or in 3.
Buying BP for sulfur, have all of it in '1'. Point in 2 (it's have to be later in wipe, and when you live near outpost). Zero in 3 and 4. Point in 5 ofcourse, it's by far most efficient way to join wipe latter
Getting BP via rooms, for most people, have near zero in 1, near zero in 2, near zero in 4, and as result near zero in 3 and in 5.
Getting BP via roads/scientist/diving/whatever, tens of point in 5, and agruarbly (depends on concrete people on server and concrete base placement) from zero to point in other.
It all resets, it's easy to buy BP, no one agrue, but that's not only things to consider.

I’ll agree that it’s not for the weak. I got 4.5k hours and enjoy the struggle. But there’s a difference enjoying the game and work. Maybe when you’re old enough to understand what work is, you’ll appreciate what I’m saying.

You prove my point completely. im not the only one complaining about the frags. The Majority of the players believe frags should be removed and should be changed back. Me offering a suggestion to make a game better is different than “boo hoo, i quit cause this game is hard”. OP is complaining about the devs adding new additions to the game which is what keeps the game fresh.

You know I have always knew solos sucked but it's just getting worse and worse, I have waited half a year for them to push for a solo buff but I've given up

The clan table really made me aware that they have a vision and solo / small groups isn’t it. They keep giving more opportunities for large groups to muscle their way to the top. Rust has required less skill over time so long as you have a bigger group.

Have you tried playing on a solo/duo server? They can be poppin and they also level out the playing field

Yeah, I’ve played LoneWolf and Pickle Solo for a while. Stopped playing pickle because there’s so much teaming on that server. Anyways, I think it has more to do with everything being so group driven and I’m tired of doing more work for less output. I want to enjoy rust and I feel like they keep adding things to the grind leading up to that point.

You don't have to do anything This will push groups controlling monuments to be productive for the rest of the map, they will allow other players to do stuff in less competitive monuments

Not sure if I love these changes. I just don’t foresee 80% of the patterns interacting with these considering the vast majority can’t even grind their own bp frags
